Universal Orlando News & Planning Thread

However, on the booking site, under “Benefits”, both SN and TL say “Dedicated entrance into Epic Universe.”

That seems…incorrect.

That is the language they use.

And on the Loews site it says:

Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort will be located at the future site of the new Universal Epic Universe theme park, which will open at a later date in 2025. Universal Orlando’s current theme parks and Universal CityWalk will be accessible from the new hotels via convenient and complimentary shuttles.

That suggests that you won’t need a bus to get to Epic from SN/TL.

Rude.

Maybe that just means that at the time of opening, bus transportation is available to those locations. I cannot see making guests walk that far! Certainly a bus will be available once Epic opens.

Interestingly, the direction of this photo is actually looking to the north with Epic in the background. You can see where the roundabout is being built in the Google Maps view below:

So the connecting sidewalk is actually a backtrack away from Epic. Hopefully there is another walking path on the other side closer to Epic. Also note that the main gate to Epic is at the blue arrow. I wonder if they will have a dedicated entrance closer to SN / TL? Seems unlikely, but who knows.

If its walkable it may have its own entrance - not like the GH but like the walking path from the other hotels that bypass the whole moving sidewalk areas.

I love the natural trail between OKW & SSR but its not the most efficient way to get to DS lol but its there-

Actually, it doesn’t. It ranks them all as ★★★☆☆.

The room sizes at ES, SN/TL, CBR and Aventura are all the same: 315 sq ft.

Right now, ES-D is $39 a night cheaper than the others, which are all the same price. What am I paying $39 a night for?

Which would you choose:

1 night at Helios, 6 nights at ES

or

7 nights at SN / TL / CBR / Aventura (specify)

All rooms are the cheapest standard room available. The costs of all options is very similar.

Having a walking path, and having an entrance are two completely different things, though. Unless they plan to set aside certain stiles just for those guests. But we have seen the entrance to Epic in concept art, so that just doesn’t seem likely.

7 nights. As cool as Helios views may be, I wouldn’t want to deal with changing rooms just for that.

For halls and floors that aren’t laminate that bounce and echo every footstep around and above you…  :shark: :shark:

Do you have to move 4 times or just one of these for the duration? If it’s just one hotel then I’d try the SN or TL due to them having the newest furnishing and amenities.

You’d hate my December trip: ESD → CBR → Portofino → ESS.

Eight nights total.

I meant all seven nights in one place. Hotel hopping isn’t a possibility now because you only get the cheap rate if you book 7 nights. The rate increases a bit for 6 nights in the Helios-for-one-night plan.

Yeah. I wouldn’t like that. It is nice to get settled. We did three hotels one trip…do not recommend. We generally do two now, about halfway through switching. But that has to do with DVC points. At Universal I really liked just staying put for every night of our last trip…which was I think 8 nights? (I forget…something like that.)

The rationale is this.

The first two days (three nights) we are not even going to UOR, so we just wanted somewhere cheap to sleep. The move to CBR (three nights) is to take advantage of the proximity to VB, which is open at the weekend, which is when we’ll be there. The move to Portofino (one night) is to get two days of Express Passes (huge saving over just buying them). The final move to ESS is our last night, which is just somewhere to sleep before our flight the next morning.

As we’re staying at ESD and ESS in December, we’ll finally find out for ourselves whether we (well, I: the Epic trip is a solo one) can handle the ES resorts. And if the extra couple of hundred dollars is worth the upgrade.

The SN / TL walking path / private entrance is attractive, if it’s true. And they’re new and exciting. (Although, I’m not sure I like the weird spaceship vibe of the rooms.) Otherwise it’s CBR or Aventura — the problem here is that I’ve stayed in the Volcano Bay view / Skyline view rooms before and I don’t think I could handle downgrading to a regular room. So that’s another couple of hundred.

I will never move for just one night again. Has to be at least two, preferably three, unless I’m staying at like an airport hotel or something to be right next to where I’m going in the morning or sleeping after a late night arrival.

Same! I’ve relocated only when I’ve added dates to my trip and a different hotel was the significant rate. Even then I dislike doing it anymore.
