Universal Orlando News & Planning Thread

It’s listed as “market price” but my local bar has pours for $80-$120. Hence the joke.

Yikes!
Do you know anyone who has tried it?

I’ve heard it’s really good. The reason it’s so expensive is they only make a limited number of barrels each year. Then they don’t sell it to the general public unless you come to the facility and enter a lottery for a few bottles they’ll have for the public.

IMHO - I’m sure it’s great, but it seems like FOMO is the reason most people rave about it.

I was a huge fan of the previous dining card, but I do understand why they got rid of it. There were probably a ton of people like me who maximized the return and they were losing money on it. We aren’t going until Feb 2025, so we’ll see how things are then.

It’s not a “major” update, but Chez Alcatraz has reopened after months of remodeling!

Go get your Ocean Attack!

I have, it’s great!

From what I can tell, other than some aesthetic improvements, the biggest change is they pushed the counter/bar outwards…so I am guessing they can accommodate more people at one time?

Tentative operating hours for November and December have been posted. As of now, USF is showing EPA 11/23-11/25.

Wow! I’m surprised about VB being closed during my trip! I’ll make sure I do it at the start of my trip

During AP appreciation days there are many food & beverage items available around UOR…

Here’s an official list

With the addition of three new hotels coming to UOR they’ve rebranded its hotel categories into 3 different groupings:

Signature Collection - Helios Grand Hotel, Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel, Royal Pacific Resort & Sapphire Falls

Prime Value - Aventura Hotel, Stella Nova Resort, & Terra Luna Resort

Value Inns and Suites - Cabana Bay Beach Resort & Universal Endless Summer Resort – Surfside & Dockside

Seems like CBBR got “down graded”. It used to be in the middle tier with Aventura. Are they gonna lower the rates to match Endless Summer Resorts?? (I doubt it! :shark:)

Yikes!
That tells me it’s not getting a refurb anytime soon and I’m sorry to say it’s really going to need one shortly :disappointed:

Agreed! I hadn’t considered that, but it’s an excellent point!

I wonder if they felt, from a marketing POV, that they needed more than just those two Endless Summer hotels in that tier?? CBBR is more “family friendly” along with Endless Summer.

I thought Stella Nova and Terra Luna were intended to be value resorts. Is there something about them that makes them better than the Endless Summer resorts?

I’m only guessing, but it’s I’d say it’s because they are new and a part of Epic

Probably location (since it sounds like you can walk to Epic), and they seem to have slightly nicer finishes than the Endless Summer hotels.

You’re probably right…but it seems like an awfully weird criteria. Typically you rate them by what offerings they have. But these two resorts are, in a practical sense, nothing special OTHER than being new. But by that standard, Endless summer should have been ahead of Cabana Bay, etc.

Can you? I didn’t think it was THAT close. But if it is, that’s definitely an advantage.

CBBR has far more amenities that IMHO put it above Endless Summer…

No. It’s going to need the shuttle service. You can only walk to Epic from Helios
