The theme song for Dreamflight (for example, at 27:30 in the video) has a very similar melody to the MarioKart theme (see about 1:05 in the video below). I have timestamped the videos to the right locations if you just click.

Which was an amazing attraction before it was converted to Stitch.
I probably wouldn’t think of this similarity if you hadn’t mentioned it, but yeah. Cool how a snippet of a Parisian melody can remind you of part of a jazz fusion sequence. Only an advanced musical mind will pick up on things like this across genres.
I think much of the Mario and Mario Kart music is loosely based on stuff from the group T Square. Those games would be so mediocre without the iconic themes repeating over and over and over.

Ha ha! I’m sure someone who actually rode it would feel differently, but since I never have, it’s an interesting historical curiosity. I’m sure Buzz is an improvement, but it would be neat to get into a time machine and experience some of the classic rides that are now gone, just once.

My father was cheap. Really cheap. And he was one of those cheapskates who was a complete phony about being cheap. So we always got the cheapest ticket books, which had maybe one E ticket. And when it was gone, forget getting any more. So I got more than my fill of the ticketless rides like If You Had Wings.

I would love to go on Horizons again. Loved it when I was a kid, when I first went back as an adult I didn’t realize it was gone and was very disappointed.

Huge fan of Marvel in 4dx so after seeing Shang-Chi-
I nominate Dinosaur for a makeover - honestly Universal has the VelociCoaster and its Jurassic area is pretty top notch IMO. I think they could make it happen…

i’d be on board with this. Dinosaur needs a total rework. Moves too fast and in the dark so you can barely see anything anyway (not that you’d want to given how meh the animatronics look) and then that screech at the end is just irritating.

Ooh, great idea. Maybe reverse the tracks, so that w have all the action/adventure/adrenaline rush of the forest trying to eat us, then a nice calm bit at the end on arrival at Ta Lo where we see all the interesting creatures that live there (NRJ style). That would be fun!

I heard that the premise is Peter Quill has good memories of going to Epcot as a kid. And he talks about how he can’t wait to go on Horizons again! And a couple of other attractions that are now gone.

I didn’t completely love either, but you’re right in saying AE was several orders of magnitude better than Stitch. I did the latter once just to see if it was as bad as people said it was - and it was worse. I think the original was a great attraction in the wrong place. Let’s face it, MK is largely a park for kids that adults can enjoy too. The target audience for AE was teens and adults. Had the exact ride been built in DHS instead, I think it would still be going strong today.
