Reimagine Seas with Nemo after Finding Dory and the Marine Life Institute. Have the Nemo characters playfully explain marine life. Keeps the IP but makes it more in the mold of traditional Epcot.

Every time we ride through the land and see that octopus I think they need to incorporate that whole thing into Epcot completely
This is great!!! We love Ice Age!!!
Yes! Makes so much more sense!!!
“This is Sigourney Weaver.”
I adore Hank. In my top ten favorite characters.
I’m just going to keep hoping they’ll bring back Alien Encounter (they won’t) - I’m sure it isn’t as good as my nostalgic brain believes, but I loved it (and I love Stitch, so Great Escape was a MASSIVE disappointment).
The only ride thought I ever had was when the Mary Poppins one was announced
set it in the cartoon scenes with the carousel horses as ride vehicles
Just for laughs change Stitch to Chapek speaking lol
Alien Encounter was pretty awesome. Stitch’s…not so much. Nice try to “family-fy” the experience, but it just ruined it!
The building where Alien Encounter/Stitch was is a problematic area because it offers limited space. Hard to come up with an attraction that could go in there that is new and different, fits the spirit of Tomorrowland, and could accommodate a large number of people.
Perhaps they could convert it over to a Signature restaurant (something MK doesn’t currently have)…although, the Tomorrowland setting is an awkward one, thematically. And they can’t really just demolish the building and start over without interfering with our beloved PM.
One possibility is that turn it into a larger shopping area instead…taking the exit area shop from Space Mountain, and possibly Auntie Gravity’s and move it all there. I BELIEVE the Space Mountain area is going to become more of a pass-through walkway to get to Tron (at least, based on the Tron construction art work). Not an attraction, but perhaps a good use of that space.

Notice that the entrance to the building where Space Mountain exits into now has a kind of open-ended almost hangar style look to it…so it makes me think that will no longer be a full shopping experience, but a way to alleviate the strain on the narrow walkway next to it for access to/from Tron.
I keep thinking about this. The ride I’d most want to retheme is Space Ranger Spin…because I don’t feel like that and Midway Mania both need to exist at WDW. But, as @ryan1 mentioned - Tomorrowland is tough thematically…
I think Big Hero 6 fits into Tomorrowland…but doesn’t really fit into the ride mechanics of a shooting game. hmmmmm
Yes. But there is no need to continue with the “game” model. It would switch to a screen-based ride, where the screens are up close and surrounding the riders in a way that makes them feel like, for example, they are flying over San Frantokyo, etc. Kind of return to the older days before it was converted to Buzz Lightyear…only, do something amazing with the effects to tie in BH6.
I like the idea!
CRT is a signature restaurant and some people include BOG too.
Meet the Robinsons could fit in Tomorrowland. Story would be fixing and then using the time machine. But I don’t think there’s widespread knowledge and love for that IP other than cult following.
Meh. That’s questionable. If you have characters walking around, I have trouble seeing that as “signature dining”. But I suppose it depends on how you define it. The other signature places across WDW are a far more upscale experience than CRT.
I agree but Disney does define it as a signature.
It wasn’t always a shooting game. The original attraction was “If You Had Wings”. It was sponsored by Eastern Airlines (“the official airline of WDW”) and was a straight ride-through attraction that was kind of a light-hearted “travelogue” of the various places that were serviced by Eastern. The “speed tunnels” at the end are left from the original 1971 ride. You could easily take away the “shooter” aspect and turn it back into a standard dark ride with a Big Hero 6 theme. I would be all for this.
I have to agree with this. To me “signature” dining is a place for adults to escape the craziness and have an upscale dinner. CRT is for families willing to fork out the $$$$ to make their young daughters happy (same could be said for Akershus). What I really wish they would do is have the princesses at lunch only and have both regular “TS” restaurants in the evening.
Probably based on price point and a throwback to when they had the dining plans and it counted as 2 dinners the way that the other signatures did. I kind of miss how it was when WDW first opened and it was “just” a “regular” TS restaurant - at the time called King Stephan’s Banquet Hall (which always seemed a bit odd because it was Cinderella’s castle, but King Stephan was in Sleeping Beauty). The Diamond Horseshoe Review was the only other TS restaurant in the MK, and there were no advanced reservations; when the park opened, you went to the restaurant(s) and signed up for a time for that day. Simpler times indeed.
I’ll take this one step further and say to make all signature dining adults-only after 8:00 or 9:00 PM.
Me too! I think interactive rides are trendy and fun, but sometimes it’s nice to just be entertained. And Big Hero 6 has basically zero park presence. It deserves a little more love. Plus Tomorrowland can always use kid-friendly rides.
P.S. I had no idea about If You Had Wings! That sounds like a cool ride.
I loved it. It was back in the days of A-E tickets needed for each ride, and this one was free, and typically had a very short line. And it was air conditioned. When a friend and I went ca. 1980, we must have ridden it 5 or 6 times a day. This video is not great, but it gives you an idea of waht the ride was like. It relied heavily on projection screens mounted cleverly into 3D set pieces. When Eastern left the scene it was converted into “Dreamflight”, which I never had a chance to ride, but I believe the majority of theoriginal ride was retained, minus the Eastern references.
I miss Baymax
