Tarrantino had his shot. He was going to write a gritty reboot of the “Doug Live!” show for the Studios, back when that was running. They couldn’t come to terms on royalties so he bagged on the project. You can sometimes find a draft script floating around online. The bit with the salad tongs is a laff riot.
They can double-down on Guardians of the Galaxy there, or wait for an opportunity to establish another deep back-cut on Marvel properties that won’t be restricted.
I’d be sad to see Roger Rabbit go. I was a young adult when it came out, and e]was blown away by the mix of live action and animation. I watched it again recently (after no having seen it for several decades, and it still hold up as a fun movie. The ride captures the frantic feeling of the movie and is probably my favorite “movie adaptation” dark ride in CA or FL.
It’s actually an excellent fit. The movie is a fable about conservation, how everything in nature is living and interdependent, and how affecting even a small part of the ecosystem can have devastating effects on the whole. It’s also a (heavy-handed) morality story about industry pillaging nature for profit without considering the effects on the ecosystem. I haven’t been since it opened, but I think I am more anxious to see Pandora than SWGE or TSL.
Dinosaur is actually an excellent ride; the bad rap in some people’s minds is that it’s not as good as Indy in DL (which it isn’t).
No more Marvel. Anywhere. If people want Marvel, then they should go to UOR.
No.
I agree that KRR is in desperate help; it’s got to be the most boring raft ride in any major theme part. But why is everyone so obsessed with adding cartoon IPs to AK? My recommendation for KRR is to completely enclose it and make it going through the water-filled subterranean (and possible haunted) caverns of an Asian temple. State of the art visual effects could show ancient relics, animals, (spirits), and such. There could be waterfalls from the ceiling and a portion of the rapids could be in complete darkness…
True. thank the Lord that they can’t do anything with the Simpsons (similar to Marvel). Thinking way outside the box Predator could be an interesting overlay for Dinosaur. As good a movie as Pulp Fiction is, I’m not sure how you could make a ride out of it
Agree!
We watched it when D+ wasn’t long launched. It was the kids first time seeing it. We all enjoyed it. I think the dueling pianos with Daffy and Donald is movie gold!!
PS I assume the ride is at Disneyland because I didn’t even know it was a thing!
I love Marvel, but the UOR stuff is just so out of date. I think all the contractual stuff prohibits them from adding folks like Black Panther and Dr Strange etc. I kind of want Marvel to stay with UOR, but it needs an upgrade, which probably isn’t likely to happen
