Saratoga Springs Resort Questions

Not really - it was kind of an open thread of SSR questions! We’ve reopened it multiple times. :+1:

Fall out or climb out? I couldn’t keep DD24 in a stroller unless we were walking at a pretty fast pace. As soon as we slowed down at all, she would shimmy out and start running around. Have I mentioned her ADHD? DD21 would have lived in the stroller if she could’ve.

I would request something in the Grandstand area. Rooms 8101 to 8836

The bus stop is to the left of the building with rooms starting 8101

The pool is next to the building with the rooms ending 8836.

There’s a walkway connecting to the parking for the main building with the store, QS and the Turf Club table service, which was closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Currently the boat is not operating to Disney Springs due to low water levels.

This is also the first bus stop at the resort so less likely the bus is full when it gets to you.

Thanks. Great info. I didn’t know that about the boat. Maybe I heard that somewhere, but hadn’t taken a moment to try and confirm it.

If the summer rains start up, so might the boat.

What boat are we talking about? At first I thought you meant the boats that take you from OKW to DS…but those are running.

Boat from SSR to DS was not running 17 - 24 May.

I heard another boat wasn’t running either - something about low water levels.

Oh. I see. Hmm. Wonder if that dock is particularly shallow.

We don’t use the SSR to DS boat, since we just talk to DS…but we do take the DS boat to POFQ and we took it to OKW in March. But come to think of it, I don’t recall actually seeing the boat running between DS and SSR.

I wondered about how shallow the dock was, also.

Currently Turf Club is closed Mondays and Tuesdays but there’s no signage about that. We ate in the lounge. With DS so close, it may be a while before the restaurant opens full time.

Those, and the ones from SSR and POR/POFQ, have not been running for weeks due to low water levels. None of them are running at this time.

They are going to need significant rain to bring it back. They were down about 7 inches last time someone updated

I am actually wondering how close they could get to the monorail and epcot area boats not being able to run. Perhaps those are fed by some other water source that might keep them going a lot longer

Wow! That’s pretty significant. Had no idea.

Yup

But no worries. The Vattes family is heading down in 2 weeks. It will rain.

I am truly worried about a repeat of 2021 where it rained for a big part of every single day that trip

That’s funny, in a sad sorta way!

In September (which I’m sure water levels would be restored by then anyhow) we are staying at BWV, so we shouldn’t be impacted by low water levels even if the rains didn’t come. But it would definitely be a bummer at SSR, since we regularly walk from SSR to DS to take the boats to POFQ for some beignets!

Our 2004 trip the first week of June. 9 glorious days at FtW. Sleep in, late nights.

Torrential rains most afternoons - AK even closed early one day. We did less that 9 days than on any other shorter trip. The teens asked to go back to rope dropping.

Just read an update that they are now over two feet below normal in the canals. At this time, they would not expect the ferries to run until early August with high normal amounts of rain, sooner with a significant tropical storm
