Ready to Run...a return to RunDisney races

The corrals. I meant to post this in my thread. Context is I got corral 4 and was expecting 2 or 3 based on wine and dine when I was in the first corral. I was hoping to start earlier to finish earlier. I got plans! Hopefully corral 4 will start within 30 minutes of the first or my plans will need to be rejiggered

And I’m still waiting to hear what time S71 is expected to start.

Lost ya after the bolded part.

wut?

Corrals are how they designate start times
They are sorted by fastest to slowest
Elite runners start on the line.
Slowpokes like me start just before the balloon ladies

That’s to keep the fasties from running over and trampling us slow folks

Your corral is offered USUALLY based on a proof of time - you provide proof of another race you’ve done by which they calculate your estimated finish time.

This year there was only proof needed if you expect to marathon in under 4hrs. Other corrals are offered on stated time (ie my sister and I put down a 5:15 estimated finish which would be lofty on my best day but will put us up closer in start time)

Jordan provided a POT (proof of time) that should have him in an earlier (faster) corral. But it sounds like the earliest corrals are teeny and so it shouldn’t much matter.

Also, I though you said you read this thread. I thought we covered corrals and POT before.

Maybe you read the cliffs notes

accurate. I kinda zone out when the technicals were discussed. Cause I’m not running. It was the direct-reply to me where I actually saw it the first time.

You should try a race sometime. Anyone can train for and finish a 5k or 10k. Well unless you have a medical condition. Sorry if that’s the case. If you’re ever going to run a race, Disney is the place to do it!

Oh I run plenty (slowed down over the holidays so instead of my usual 6miles, I only have been doing 3miles), that’s never been the issue.

It’s the price and the timing that has been the difficulty. And the popularity (where rooms are super scarce usually)

Amen to that

Runners do not come to the expo for merch in the first day. I’ve been line for 45 minutes and just entered the 71st level of Liner Hell

Might I direct you to my If You Give A Mouse A Cookie thread?

If you want it badly enough, it can be had - no matter the scarcity.

The timing of the marathon weekend is a little rough though. Princess is a better time frame I think but that doesn’t work for me because that’s when hockey playoffs happen. and I can’t not be there for the boy (and there’s no way to know far enough in advance to plan). Maybe in 10 years.

Ugh.

I really hope we get there in time tomorrow before it closes. I’d rather that than Friday morning where I expect it will be less terrible than that but more terrible than I would like.

Well get on it! If you’re not complaining it’s not work!

Ain’t that the truth!

Ugh, how terrible. All because everyone is worried they’ll run out of product like they did at Wine and Dine. Or, they’re the jerks that are going to buy all the product like they did at Wine and Dine (I hope they cracked down on that some).

OK I’m officially mentally checked out of work.

Gotta make it “look good” for 3 hrs and then I’m outta here.
