Poll Time! What to do when it rains?

I’m not in the mood for another tournament poll yet, so we’ll do a nice lighthearted one again this week!

:blush::wink:

What do you usually do when it rains at WDW? (select up to 3)

  • Poncho + sandals = Let it rain!
  • Hide out in the gift shop till it’s over
  • Take refuge in an indoor show / ride
  • Push up that ADR
  • Stay in / go back to my hotel room
  • Stake out an outdoor ride so I can be first in line when it reopens
  • Head to the pool
  • Take a ride on the Skyliner
  • I get soaked – oh well :man_shrugging:
  • Other (comment below)

If anyone has a better idea, I’m all ears! (heh)

Poncho up

But let me tell you if that becomes the overriding theme for your trip it becomes far less adorable.

I would poncho up in certain situations, but if it’s going to be quick I’ll hide out. If it’s going to be a complete washout with a river running through the park I’ll exit completely.

Rain is seriously the biggest damper on a trip, far more than sunshine and humidity, IMHO. It’s ok if it’s just for a bit in the afternoon, but it can ruin your day if you’re unprepared. (As I learned the hard way!)

No pun intended??

Yes, the odd shower is one thing. An all day downpour is unmagical

LOL I totally didn’t think of that.

My caveat to my answers is that if it is lightning, I’m hanging out in a store or a shelter. Otherwise, poncho up, get soaked, and keep going.

One trip in May (maybe 2018?), it was cold-ish and rainy for every one of our 4 park days. It was alternating drizzle and hard rain continuously all day. I think the sun finally came out on our last day. We went through a 10-pack of ponchos from Amazon and I had to buy a hoodie in the parks that I wore in the mornings every single day. At least I can easily identify all the pictures from that trip!

Oh darn, another poll I can’t vote in. There was no rain during both of our week long trips.

:man_shrugging:

Maybe I’ll do a hypothetical vote

Also, the difference between light rain and heavy rain can lead to a different answer.

When were your trips??

All depends on the volume of rain and what’s left on the agenda.

If it’s louder is that better or worse?

Last week of January and first week of March. It was amazing weather.

Why are you even here? Nobody wants you in this thread.

Jealous eh?

I’m waiting for Jeff’s approval to make a hypothetical vote. Jeff wants me here. He loves everyone. So there.

Is the Skyliner option a test? Don’t they close that down in bad weather?

I thought the same about the heading to the pool option.

I’ve been on it when it’s just raining. It’s when there is lightning in the area that it 100% will shut down.

If there is lightning, yes. If it’s just rain, not necessarily.
