I will never understand the lines for SDMT. Its just not an appealing coaster to me at all. If I can’t FP it, I’m perfectly fine skipping it!
I used to feel the same. And then I rode it several times in a row during MK DAH and now I Iove it! Still I only go on it with a FP or a very short line like at DAH.
I don’t like it either when I can only ride it once (like with a FP). When I can ride it 8 times in a row I think it’s super fun. Maybe it’s just better when it’s 8x as long?
Haha, I think you’re right!
same!
I’d actually like this better. I’m not a huge fan of the parades, and definitely not of the crowds they create for seemingly hours on end.
That photo is not representative of what happened throughout the day.
I liked these pop-up parades much more than the full-blown parades. They’re short, you don’t have to grab a spot an hour in advance, and it doesn’t cut off half the park for an hour too. Plus everyone looks like they’re having a blast being the focus of everyone’s attention.
Is this picture more representative of the day?
Ugh. I am glad for these pictures, but I am really torn as to what they mean for me. It looks fun, but how fun is it when you are reminded constantly about the virus? This looks like work, in that while it is something interesting to do, it’s stressful. November is coming soon, and I think we are only going if I feel the safety measures are for extreme caution, not vitally necessary.
That picture outside of 7DMT is getting a lot of shares, but notice that is the only inappropriate picture out there from yesterday. I have read that it was right after a rain storm when the ride was reopening – and from what I saw from watching live streams pretty much the entire day, it was not the norm for what was actually taking place in the park. I thought Disney did a great job yesterday.
I want to believe that once there, despite the masks and Plexiglas, we will be enveloped in the music and sites that will fill us w/ joy. Plus less crowds is always a cheerful experience.
As I was watching the live stream yesterday off and on, I have to say, the sight of masks all around became so ordinary that it didn’t take long before it didn’t bother me at all. Nor did the Plexiglass so much.
Ironically, the thing that stood out to me MOST as a reminder of the pandemic was…the low/non-existent crowds. While I look forward to a trip with low crowds…I’ll admit that if the crowds were as low as they were yesterday, it was kind of surreal. But the masks everyone was wearing were barely a thought.
wash your hands right after and don’t touch your face
That was what I meant by the “not all good”.
Partitions everywhere.
Important and must be done. But ugh.
a “cavalcade”, plus if no one knows when its happening, they can’t line up for hours waiting for it!
I did kind of wonder if some of the ambience would be sucked out of the place for lack of people
This is the only photo I have seen where social distancing wasn’t practiced. It’s really a bad look for Disney, but like OBNurse said, one bad moment. it is a little disappointing too since they are cast members. Maybe it was a group of friends? The photo has really made it circulation on social media though.
It’s almost as if it was shared to promote bad press!!
I wonder if the lines with plexiglass will become hot in the heat? No breeze.
