Friends, it’s been a long time since my last WDW trip report, and you know why? Because it’s been a long time since my last trip. A whole year, in fact. That may not seem like a long time between trips to some people, but around these here parts, it’s called slacking.
Anyway, I am, shall we say, eager to get back. Which I will be, in just two more sleeps!
Arriving in the magical place on Friday, early afternoon!
I’ll be staying first at—drum roll, please—the Grand Floridian! Which I could never afford without sharing with a DVC-owning someone. That trickster @LTinNC82 lured me into extending my already long seven-night trip by dangling two additional nights in a GF studio. And since we’re puttin’ on the ritz, why not do the Disney Dining Plan for the GF stay, too? Done! Indulgence all the way! YOLO!
Please, let it be pool weather on Friday at least!
The rest of my stay will be at good ol’ Pop—love that Skyliner. Just me in my own room for this part.

- Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (first time! on Dec 5)
- New-and-Improved Jollywood Nights (Dec 7)
- Dining at several new-to-me restos: Toledo, 1900 Park Fare, Hollywood & Vine, Biergarten, Tuskins, Trattoria al Forno
- First ride on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
- Lots ’n’ lots of Tron and GotG
- That damn peanut butter cake ryan1 mentioned in passing, which, for whatever reason, I’ve become obsessed with
I don’t know how “live” I’ll be on this report. My first TR (December 2022) was my best effort, largely because I was truly flying solo most of the time. On subsequent trips I spent more time hanging out with you liner people, and since I’m easily distracted I neglected to post as much. Which, no big loss to humanity, but I do like to look back on my trip reports from time to time and relive the memories. So for my own sake I’m going to try to at least throw in some photos here as I go along, and maybe keep a Shenkel list.
Okay, time to go face my unfinished packing. I’m paralyzed with indecision due to the 36-degree temperature spreads I’m seeing so far in the forecast. So far I’ve pulled out waaaay too many clothes.
