It would make sense for a tiered system for the initial 3 selections. However, after that you should be able to book whatever is available or the value wouldn’t be there.
I keep seeing comments suggesting Tier 1 would be one ride on Space OR BTMRR OR 7DMT, but is that what you are suggesting? I read it as one ride for each of the Tier 1’s and unlimited Tier 2. Essentially Tier 1 is how it is today, but Tier 2 now allows you to get as many Small World LL rides as your heart desires.
Am I reading it wrong?
This is a great point!
My sentiments EXACTLY! It’s like they say, “We are going to make your experience better. We’re listening. We promise”. Then months later I’m looking at my phone like What the Flooks!
I said this during FP+, and it’s even more true right now: Disney took all the worst aspects of every other “skip the line” system, and mashed them together to make theirs.
Exactly. I’m really pissed about the changes due to people complaining. It wasn’t that bad and this sounds way worse. Be careful what you wish for people.
Do you think we can modify the times for those 3 rides once in the park? I remember fastpass when we booked 3 in advance, you got shitty return windows! I’m not waiting for mid afternoon to book the rest-that’s crap. I got all rides before 1pm with genie+
Do you think golden ticket will still work??
Also, this means they have to give us pricing for genie+ and ILL obvi 7 days out, right? If this overlaps with other trips u don’t get as great return windows on rides similar to dining availability. Ugh.
Do you know when this will actually be announced or actually rolled out??
Thanks in advance and appreciate your input
I don’t think it’ll be announced next week. There’s other stuff that has to go in and go through the inevitable park ops adjustments.
I think we’ll hear some stuff next week that might give us a hint about timelines.
Hopefully park ops will say, “we juat made a ton of money and sold out Genie+ multiple times over the last 2 weeks, lets let people book their 1st one sometime before 7 am, and then keep everything else the same.”
At this point it feels like they are fixing a small problem with a complete overhaul.
You’d think they’d have a copy of the FP+ code somewhere, ready to be re-used.
If they have any kind of version control they will…
Terrible customer feedback isn’t a small problem. It was bad enough for them to have to take action. That doesn’t happen often.
I agree that they needed to fix something. The waking up at 7:00 was just ridiculous.
Some of the negative feedback was always going to be there - because they went from free to paid. That is always frustrating.
The question is, did they look at the fixes from a customer experience perspective, or are they recycling old ideas from a time when the service was free?
We’ll see.
As a Liner, while I was able to take advantage of the G+ system to get several rides…I still really hated being forced to have to be so tied to the phone so constantly. That was a major complaint I continue to hear.
Having the ability to book ahead of time, while perhaps seemingly taking us back to the FP+ days (only paid), in the very least it means that while on vacation, you can plan part of your day without having to be glued to the phone for the next booking window…at least, not as much. And…and I were to pay for G+ and pre-booknmy LLs, and then NEVER get another LL while in the parks (which was a common thing for us when we used FP+), at least there was SOME value already from it. Of course, I can then use G+ the normal way going forward in my day to increase value.
While I just wish it would all go away (no FP+, not G+), that ain’t happening. So I am hopeful the changes they make will improve value as well as lessen the need to be so tied to the phone!
Agree, I liked planning ahead and not being in my phone. When I’m on vacation I prefer to not use my phone all day. I hope there are some changes.
Any updates on this??? Anyone think this will actually happen or do you think they are timing it with the opening of tianas bayou? Just curious what anyone has seen or heard - thanks!
It happened! There are no longer restrictions on when you can hop.
Woops no no I meant changing genie+ to purchasing in advance and it going back to similar fastpass selecting 3 in advance with tiers hahaha sorry! I hope it doesn’t change but wanted update l ol
Oh no that hasn’t happened yet.
Haha oh I know I use bg1 all the time but I’m curious if anyone has insider deets on if it’s even going to happen and if they know more - I forget who on here saw some back end coding for it but no word on it since early chat days I think Oct? Forget
I heard two reasons given, both from people with a degree of inside info.
One was they wanted to make changes to DAS first before changing G+
The other is that they pulled it last minute.
Those aren’t incompatible either, it could have been pulled last minute because they decided to prioritise the DAS changes.
