Thanks for checking the times for us! Can’t wait to see your fireworks pics!
Me is very tired and brain not up to creative writing task. Back at hotel. 2:25am. Sleep awaits
I wasn’t able to follow along in real time this weekend. However, I’m LOVING the “tale of adventure!”
It’s great you’ve gotten in some Liner meets along the way…
You’ve really been going non-stop!! I’m so jealous!!
I’d probably skipped buying the crocs too. I bet you can find charms like those online!
Hope you got some rest and have a another great day!!
I did not know this was a thing and I hadn’t decided where to eat in Epcot! Thank you so much for making my mind up for me. I’m weirdly confident my belly can handle five cheese-y snacks in one day. Anything for a prize, right?
Good work, Pilgrim Scott!
What has happened to our intrepid hero??
I don’t even want to imagine what perils he must have endured to force abandonment of his loyal acolytes.
We must hope that his adventures have been so joyous that he was simply met with forgetful delirium ![]()

Totally forgot about this trip report with all the hoopla. Where is Scott?!?! I know he had a work conference in the middle of his trip so I’m assuming it’s that.
Yes, the conference is 1-10th according to the first post.
That’s a very long conference. ![]()
I think he’s in Florida 1-10, but the conference is only 4-8, per his post.
That’ll be it ![]()
Ah, dear Liners, our tale resumes after a brief intermission! While our intrepid hero, gMagicScott, was whisked away to the realm of conferences from November 4th to 9th, his Disney adventures were put on pause. But fear not, for we now return to the magical night of the RunDisney Epcot After-party!
The Cosmic Conundrum Continues
Armed with a wristband and event guide,
gMagicScott set off to save the galaxy for the third time that day. Lo and behold, Cosmic Rewind had transformed, now sporting a standby queue instead of its usual virtual line.
The posted 60-minute wait proved to be a mere illusion, as our hero emerged victorious after only 40 minutes.
But alas! The curse of Conga struck again, much to gMagicScott’s chagrin. His displeasure was immortalized in the ride photo, a testament to the cosmic joke that seemed to follow him through the galaxies. Though tempted to break this musical hex, the swelling 100-minute wait deterred our hero from another attempt.
A Magical Menagerie
Venturing forth into the after-party festivities, gMagicScott encountered a delightful cast of characters:
-
Princess Tiana, receiving compliments on her renovation of the old Briar Patch
-
A pair of Brothers Bears, no doubt enjoying the culinary offerings of the Food & Wine Festival
-
Bean Bunny, having strayed far from his Muppet Theater home, with Sweetums in hot pursuit outside the Imagination Pavilion
The Enchanted Atmosphere
The park pulsed with energy as a DJ at ¡Celebración Encanto! replaced the usual background music, transforming Epcot into a nocturnal wonderland. Our hero, swept up in the festivities, couldn’t resist one final Food & Wine offering.
The Last Culinary Conquest
At the Swirled Showcase booth, gMagicScott sampled the Liquid Nitrogen Frozen Sweet Potato Mousse. While impressive, it fell short of the legendary frozen cake pop from festivals past, earning a respectable 4 stars.
The Race Against Time
As the witching hour approached, our hero made a valiant dash back to Cosmic Rewind, hoping for one last intergalactic adventure. Alas, he missed the cutoff by a mere 15 minutes, the ride’s entrance as impenetrable as Rapunzel’s tower.
The Magical Farewell
With 23,000 steps already under his belt, gMagicScott chose to bask in the final moments of the party around World Celebration. As the clock struck party’s end, the music abruptly ceased, plunging Epcot into an eerie silence. For 15 minutes, our hero wandered a soundless park before the familiar loops resumed, bringing Epcot back to life.
The Journey Home
As all magical nights must come to an end, gMagicScott bid farewell to Epcot and embarked on a less-than-stellar rideshare adventure back to his hotel. Despite the driver’s questionable skills, our hero arrived safely, ready to dream of his next Disney escapade.
And so, dear Liners, we conclude this chapter of gMagicScott’s epic tale. Though conferences may intervene and Conga may haunt his cosmic journeys, the magic of Disney perseveres. Stay tuned for future adventures, for in the world of Disney, the story never truly ends! ![]()

The Epic Tale of gMagicScott’s Pilgrimage to the Bubble - Part 12: A Feast Fit for Kings at Jiko
The Conference Concludes: A Culinary Adventure Begins
As the final gavel fell on the conference, our intrepid hero gMagicScott emerged from the realm of business into the magical world of Disney once more. With hunger as their guide and adventure in their hearts, gMagicScott and three fellow conference survivors - Mark, Taylor, and Carroll - set their sights on the fabled Cooking Place known as Jiko.
The Journey to Animal Kingdom Lodge
Like a modern-day safari party, our quartet summoned their trusty Lyft chariot. After a brief 16-minute wait and a quick pit stop for Taylor to lighten her load, they were off on their culinary expedition. The ride to Animal Kingdom Lodge was as smooth as a glide across the savanna, depositing our hungry adventurers with mere minutes to spare before their reservation.
The Prelude to Feasting
Directed to the bar to await their table, gMagicScott wasted no time in ordering a Baobab 75. This libation, as strong and impressive as Pride Rock itself, earned a perfect 5-star rating from our discerning hero. Just as the last drop was poured, their table beckoned, as if by Disney magic itself.
The Ritual Cleansing and Bread Service
Upon being seated, warm moist washcloths were presented, prompting resident jokester Mark to quip about it being his first shower of the week. The bread service swiftly followed - Giraffe bread with house butter, served warm enough to make even Simba purr with delight. gMagicScott bestowed upon it a noble 4-star rating.
The Appetizer: A Familiar Favorite
gMagicScott’s choice of Duck Confit and Honey-Raisin Flatbread proved to be a returning champion. With a subtle zing that our hero hesitated to even call spicy, this 5-star appetizer set the stage for the main event.
The Main Course: A Venison Adventure
For the pièce de résistance, gMagicScott selected venison with a shrimp enhancement. The deer, less gamey than Bambi’s distant cousins, could have passed for beef to the uninitiated. A surprise spicy pepper added unexpected heat, earning the dish a respectable 4 stars. The accompanying wine pairing, despite its fancy menu name, proved to be a 5-star selection, joining the ranks of gMagicScott’s top favorites alongside Be Our Guest’s exclusive dark red.
The Feast of Friends
Our hero’s companions each selected their own African-inspired delights:
-
Taylor: Moroccan-spiced Lamb Shank
-
Mark: Botswanan Seswaa Short Rib
-
Carroll: Peri-Peri Chicken
Though they didn’t explicitly rate their meals, their silence spoke volumes. Not a peep was heard from first bite to last, suggesting a unanimous 5-star experience.
Left to Right: Taylor, Mark, Carroll, gMagicScott
The Sweet Finale
gMagicScott, ever the dessert connoisseur, indulged in the Malva Pudding. This 5-star delight was only slightly marred by the absence of a proper knife to tackle its crunchy middle layer. A Keoke Coffee, while delicious, lost a star due to the presence of whipped cream, earning a solid 4-star rating.
The Surprise Confection
As if by magic, a final sweet treat appeared alongside the check - four squares of house-made fruity gummy candy. In a moment of forgetfulness (or perhaps overeager anticipation), Carroll momentarily neglected the sacred rule of “camera eats first,” leaving only three squares for the photo op. This delightful surprise earned a respectable 4 stars from our discerning hero, proving that even the smallest treats can leave a lasting impression.
The Zebra Dome Detour
Not content with their feast, the group made a pilgrimage to The Mara for the fabled Zebra Domes. Like wildebeest following a leader, gMagicScott’s friends each secured their own packs of these striped delicacies for later enjoyment.
The Nighttime Safari and Lodge Exploration
Despite the late hour hiding the savanna’s inhabitants from view, gMagicScott led the group on a brief outdoor excursion before returning to admire the lodge’s impressive lobby. With full bellies and happy hearts, our adventurers summoned another Lyft chariot to return them to their temporary abodes.
And so, dear readers, we conclude this culinary chapter of gMagicScott’s epic tale. But fear not! Tomorrow promises new adventures in Animal Kingdom, followed by our hero’s solo journey to the inaugural Jollywood Nights of 2024. Will gMagicScott brave Expedition Everest? Will Jollywood Nights dazzle with holiday cheer? Tune in for the next thrilling installment of “The Epic Tale of gMagicScott’s Pilgrimage to the Bubble”! ![]()

Looks like an absolutely delicious meal! I need to find my way back to Jiko again someday.
It was. And yes, very much worth a return visit or 6
This is my favorite bread service (
) in all of WDW.
Eagerly awaiting this chapter! Especially from someone who can make first-hand comparisons with last year’s event.
