That is wonderful!!! ![]()

The responses on DisBoatds have been overwhelmingly negative about the changes. Most of them really do not like that World Showcase is run first instead of last. It’s like this course is more or less backwards
This is the first thing I thought of
But seriously people EXHAUST me!
We hate it!
We hate it!
Change it!
Change it!
We hear you!
We changed it!
WHY DID YOU CHANGE IT WE HATE THIS!!
Oh I agree with you, totally. Lori looked at it and was confused, all that criss crossing around the TTC is really odd
Agreed! I kept trying to find a significant difference in the overall route, but decided it’s basically just a portion of the race backwards now. I guess we do get to run through adventure land, which I am not sure I have done before. Still have to do everyone’s favorite, the parking lot of Blizzard Beach - hahaha!
It’s an easy bit to cut off if conditions aren’t good. Just close the parking lot and tell everyone to run straight across
I just saw this posted elsewhere and came over here to verify it was legit. I was so surprised to see the map released so soon!
I do like the reworked course through MK. More running time in the park is always fun.
I have only done the marathon once (this year) and see pros and cons for the WS rework. As a runner, at that portion of the race, finishing around the WS with everyone cheering felt amazing and really was just the best atmosphere. That and everyone grabbing their drinks on the course was so fun! It does cause a lot of logistical gymnastics filtering EP crowds with runners so I understand that aspect of making the WS potion earlier in the race.
I think it was released this early because of the big change to the course (which is basically reversing it) and the earlier start time of 430
This is what I thought of too.
So early. I know it’s only 30 minutes but at what time does it become more reasonable for runners to just sleep in really late Saturday and stay up until they finish their race Sunday? I was thinking 4:30 would maybe do it for me. Your alarm is set for 1:30 at this point.
LOL also a thought I had!
Then we would have a new designation for a DNF: sleep deprivation? ![]()
Our dinning reservation window for marathon weekend is opening soon! Curious: what’s everyone’s favorite pre and post race dinning spots?
The general rule of thumb is to not mess up your routine, especially pre race. If you’re not a big carb person, then eating a big bowl of spaghetti right before a huge race is not a good idea.
After the race, go celebrate! But it’s the same thing. If you get hungry after a race, and you usually chow down, then find some chow. If you aren’t so hungry, then staring at Chef Mickey’s buffet might make you sick.
My DW likes more protein before a race, so we find steak or fish to be a good filler. Afterwards, she loves to just relax, so lunch is really small, then we’ll have a nice dinner at some signature restaurant.
what’s everyone’s favorite pre and post race dinning spots?
I can say 100% that Tutto Italia had absolutely delicious pasta, and chicken parm as big as the plate (no kidding, see:)
That is a full-sized dinner plate
And while that bowl of spaghetti in the top right looks small - it wasn’t! I didn’t finish either
This is our go to pre-Marathon spot.
I decided to go with Trattoria al Forno, as we’ll be staying at BWV
Edit 5 weeks later: I forgot an apostrophe! ![]()
Oh that’s SWEEEEEET!
and chicken parm
I ate at Tony’s this last trip, and their Chicken Parm is actually really good! That and the garlic bread had me nicely full.

And course maps!
It seriously looks like that the timed races (i.e., everything but the 5k) have their courses more or less flipped from last year.
