Someday, but not this time. We really only have two full days on property, plus a little arrival and departure day time. Every second counts.
Yup yup. Don’t do Swolphin. Too far.
It’s like 5 more steps past Boardwalk!
I was thinking the same thing.
I voted for Le Cellier. We always try to make it there when we visit. We’ve been to all 3 restaurants. We used to love Chefs de France, but have been disappointed on more recent visits. The French onion soup and the bread were both delicious, but the meals were meh. Also, it seemed to us that there were a lot of kids there and it was noisy. The experience there is very “server-dependent”. The right server can make it very special but a snobby indifferent server can make it average.
We’ve been to Yachtsman only once and will never go back. We thought it was going to be very special and have that dark quiet sophisticated feel. It did not. It was very noisy and crowded, and the service was extremely slow. In our opinion, the food was really nothing to rave about and came out not very hot.
We all think the food at LeCellier is superior and we love the appetizers and dipping sauces for the steak. The desserts are pretty good too. We share and sample each other’s selections. I am not a coffee drinker, but DH and DS LOVE the French press coffee. We also enjoy the darker more authentic ambience there. Most of the servers we have had have been very friendly.
I agree the tables are close together and it can feel congested at the most popular times. If you have any flexibility, I would try to eat there at a less-crowded time. We’ve had dinner there around 4:00 and it was great. When we went around 6:30, it was less enjoyable and the servers were busy. We never tried to dine there very late because we are usually trying to grab a spot for fireworks. I think if you speak to the host or hostess when you arrive and explain that you’d like a quiet table, you will be fine.
Of course, these are only my experiences, and I totally understand that everyone has different likes and dislikes!
Seems more immersive with regard to theming of a restaurant in France
Not sure your snarkfish is needed here. . . .
Good list. I’d add Topolino’s in the Epcot area but realize that may not be up your alley.
What about the San Angel Inn as a wacky idea? That’s got a romantic-ish setting and approachable Mexican cuisine and stays in the Epcot realm.
We are doing a Topolino’s brunch!
Our kids enjoy that one so we are saving it for when we are back with them. Hoping to try something new.
I would Le Cellier for convenience while in EP and very solid steaks. Yachtsman has some good steak
And some great high grade Wagyu there. But ambience in kind of “eh” like Le Cellier. Kind of what you’ve heard already. I still feel like Citricos, Cali Grill and Topo’s are better date choices but not convenient from EP necessarily.
My wife just noticed…apparently Flying Fish has a dress code. I’m hoping I’ll squeak by. They want khakis and a shirt with a collar…although they will allow “dress shorts”. I don’t really have “dress shorts”, and I didn’t bring a single pair of long pants. But my shorts are decent looking. I hope they agree. I guess we should have checked before we changed our Le Cellier reservation!
It’s not different than anywhere else, where you can get in in park clothes.
So are you saying I shouldn’t worry too much about it?
You shouldn’t worry at all about it
Okay. Thanks!
You’re welcome
We got back from Flying Fish about an hour or so ago. The food was amazing. We got the char crusted New York Strip mostly because the sides better aligned with our tastes. (No mushrooms, please…which the filet had…and didn’t want to complicate things).
It was a beautiful place, although somewhat noisy because we were near the open kitchen…but not terrible. We could converse well enough.
Dress code wasn’t a problem, although almost everyone was adhering to it. There were only a few exceptions.
Here was our food …
The steak was perfect, and the green beans…while I love green beans, my wife despises them…and yet she actually ate them and liked them! The potatoes were great…and almost tasted like potato chips…but more potato like. So good, especially with the sauce.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for reporting back! Looks like a great option if that’s what we settle on.
I still think we will do Le Cellier for the CP dining package but we’ll see.
I was voting for Flying Fish. However, if the CP package is something you’re considering I would go with LC.
