Le Cellier, Yachtsman, or Chefs de France?

For my date trip with DW in December, I’m trying to plan one romantic-ish dinner for the two of us. We are plain folk, so fancier doesn’t necessarily mean better. But I am hoping for good food and nice ambiance without eating up too much time. We will be at Epcot so I’m limiting to restaurants we haven’t tried before in that area.

If you have eaten at any of these restaurants which would you recommend? You can vote for all of them.

I really enjoyed Chefs de France the one time we went. The food and service was great.
I’ve been to Le Cellier and it’s fine, but the tables are squished together in there (like you could reach over to your neighbors table and grab a roll if you wanted to). Many people really enjoy it there, I am likely in the minority on that one.
Haven’t been to Yachtman.

I found this to also be the case at Chefs de France, TBH

I enjoy both of these restaurants but I don’t think they give the ambience that would make me think of “date night”

For that:
Citricos
Flying Fish
(perhaps Yachtsman - never been)
Jiko

I would definitely step outside of the parks, regardless. I just don’t know that you’ll get the environment you’re looking for at an in-park location.

Could you imagine?

That would be hilarious. My mom would be the one striking up conversations with the people at the next table (hell she does that now).

I didn’t vote because we haven’t eaten at any of them…but we decided to try Le Cellier for this trip.

As far as the table situation…it is annoying that Disney does this. The same is true at San Angel Inn! But…it isn’t really about guest experience, but how many people they can get to pay for a meal there.

It seems difficult to find the perfect balance of food quality/preference, ambiance, and cost.

I like the food at Le Cellier, but the tables are too close together for it to be a romantic dinner. The tables at Chefs de France had more space though I’m not sure that the menu would be to your liking.

Do you want to be in the parks for the meal? Are you thinking of doing a CP package? Anything in particular that DW likes or would want to try without the kids in tow?

Ok I change my vote to this! It’s Epcot adjacent

I know that a lot of Disney restaurants are bad about the too-close tables, but Le Cellier is one of the worst in my experience.

I peeked inside the windows of Chefs de France while walking by last week and it did seem a bit crowded, but not prohibitively so for my liking. And I would be more likely to forgive this in this location - it seems to fit the theming.

Let me know how it goes! The menu seemed a little more eccentric than Chefs de France, honestly.

That is a good point - I think DW will want to see it but I will do standby if I don’t like the dining options. I wasn’t a fan of Biergarten.

I agree with the tables being close at Le Cellier and Chefs de France, although I enjoy the food at both places. I’ve never been to the yachtsman. I vote for Flying Fish, though.

I pick Chefs de France. We’ve eaten there multiple times and it’s always been good. I’ve never left feeling disappointed, nor have I ‘remembered’ a meal we had there. It’s a solid choice.

We went to Yachtsman last year and it was horrible. Like, bar none the worst meal I’ve had on property.

Le Cellier is a mixed bag. We’ve eaten there a few times and the experience has been different every time. From amazing to mediocre/slightly overrated. My DH wants to go back hoping they can redeem themselves, but there’s just too many other places for us to eat for me to take that chance.

It was just… loud in there.

Picked Yachtsman because it was one of the better steaks I’ve had on property and atmosphere was nice. But only been once and didn’t try anything other than steak.

Last time at Le Cellier my filet was not good. Maybe a one off experience.

Chefs de France has always been good but forgettable .

If I could revote I’d change it to Flying Fish.

Chefs and Le Cel can be loud and tables are close together, not really what I would think of as romantic. If you are looking for something quiet with good food and excellent service Flying Fish is just a short walk away.

Of these, only Flying Fish is near Epcot and it seems to be getting a lot of votes from others.

Is this a 2-hour meal experience? Any other factors I should consider when deciding if it’s “for me”?

I missed the piece about Epcot, though I would argue that Citricos is a quick monorail ride away

It doesn’t need to be, but you can certainly linger if that’s what you’re up for

As to the rest, I would just check the menu :woman_shrugging:t4:

I also want to say you should consider Flying Fish!!
