if itās the 3BR then there will most likely be a tour of the space. At least thatās what they do at Aulani. I think they have trouble renting the 3BR space out at Aulani since the ocean view seems to be open for daily tours.

I donāt have points to burn, but I am def setting my alarm to see if I can get a duo studio for me & DH. Weāre transitioning the family trips to every 2 years, leaving us a bunch of points to take more frequent couple trips.

Mine is Imagineer but since Iām an economist not an engineer I would so do that as a second choice. I have these questions all the time. Gotta agree with @Nicky_S that they must have at least expected it to be a net benefit to direct sales.

Where are you seeing River Country theming? Iām very nostalgic for River Country from my first visit but this resort isnāt really wowing me. (I know I am in the minority though.)

Hmmm, maybe River Country themeing is stated too broadly, but it is widely believed that the mega pool area is in tribute to River Country.
I think this is definitely the case of DVC having a nice wide range of choices. I would need to see it in person. I thought the Poly tower was going to be my āmust haveā and while it is beautiful, it didnāt convince me that I needed to trade in my cheap AK points for it. Even without the resale restrictions. Weāll see what this one does.

Haha, weāre going to have to respectfully disagree here. We have a ginko tree in our back yard. A female ginko tree. Worst. Tree. Ever. Even if the leaves are pretty.

I am excited for this resort, but disappointed as a family of 5 that the studios will only sleep 4. This forces those of us with 5 into much pricier 1 bedrooms. Now, our kids are all older, so we choose 1 or even 2 beds most of the time, but when they were younger (and we had fewer resources and no dvc points) we couldnāt have stayed at this resort.

I donāt know, maybe I am once again in the minority here, but it irks me that more studios sleep 5 than 1-bedrooms! I feel like if you spend more money/points for more space then you should get more beds!
Overall if studios slept 4 and 1-bedrooms slept 5 I think that inventory would be much more even. I know they canāt go back in time at the other resorts so maybe that was their plan here.

My solution is making sure one bedrooms can actually sleep 5 (It canāt be hard to do that and I have never understood them being limited to 4 - it seems like six should be possible!) and then having more studios to balance the inventory to the actual demand. Make it work for everyone instead of requiring people to pay more.

The configuration of some rooms make sleeping 5 impossible.
And I donāt see how any could sleep 6 UNLESS they replace the king in the master with 2 queens.
Weāve had that discussion before, and it isnāt going to happen with existing resorts.
The DVC slogan of a āhome from homeā means they arenāt going to change the configuration and put 2 beds in the master bedroom. Iād be interested in hearing from any liner who has 2 beds in their master bedroom at home!
There are options for 6 at a couple of regular (non-DVC) resorts. If DVC members want that option, then there are the cabins at Fort Wilderness. That configuration was kept from the old cabins.

I was thinking a single under the TV or a sleeper chair in the Master for those families that want to maximize. And then something similar in the main area. I know some of the existing spaces canāt be retrofitted, but those are things they could consider with new builds. Its wild to me that any one bedroom sleeps four with the comparable studio sleeping five, and that a new build would have a studio that only sleeps four. It is somewhere I would love to stay with my sisters, but we like having three sleeping surfaces!
The idea of six in a one bedroom was more of a throw away thought.

Their aim though is surely to maximise the number of points people buy, not for members to maximise the number of people in a 1-bed or studio. Which makes them more money?
