Fantasia is the original 1940 film with all the classic segments like Sorcerorās Apprentice, Rite of Spring (Dinosaurs), Nutcracker Suite, Pastoral Symphony (the Greek centaur scene), Night on Bald Mountain, Dance of the Hours (hippos / flamingos), etc.
Fantasia 2000 was a follow-up released in 1999 (bwahaha) that included brand new segments ā Rhapsody in Blue, Pines of Rome, Pomp & Circumstance, Firebird Suite, etc. and also had a reprise of Sorcerorās Apprentice in its original form.

Not joking! I definitely donāt think I realized that there were two separate ones. Canāt say that Iām a Fantasia aficionado.
I was pretty sure the Pink bar on the Disney Dream was something from Fantasia until the bartender let us know it was from Dumboā¦

This is 184 points for a couple in a duo studio or 314 for a family of 4 in a resort view studio! For 3 nights!!!
ETA: Only ~850 points for a lake house!

Iāve never looked into booking special stuff with points but this is absolutely outrageous pricing. Who has this amount of points to burn?! And you have to pay extra for the 3rd guest?! The itinerary better be killer at this price. This is like Starcruiser level bonkers.

This was my exact first thought. Like this is less than 11 months away too. The extra guests was what galled me at first before I had even looked at the charts. I get that they are feeding you (but only 2 meals!).

Oh my. I stay in Duos at Disneyland Villas a lot and can stay 3 nights for 33-42 points usually. 184 points could get me a 2 bedroom for 4 nights! Holy smokes.

My first thought was that it was a more enticing membership extra but I feel like the average direct contract is somewhere around 200 points? Who is going to spend a yearās worth of points for 3 nights.
I donāt think this bodes well for the everyday points chartā¦

It also includes theme park tickets and some other experiences, apparently.

There are people with many, many points. I have lots of questions about these people. For example, what is your annual dues bill when you have 3000 points? And why do you do that?
Also, Disney is so good a whipping people into a frenzy to be the first to experience something. My guess: these outrageous āfirst waveā rooms will be snapped up in a hot second.

Ya I did see that. So about half of the $999 for a 6 year old goes towards the ticket and the Hoop dinner.

Based on this thread Iām putting money in my Disney Jar to buy a contract when it goes live. With the plus-up incentives they usually do to drive early buys, I hope
I was thinking of the Poly or Aulani next, but now Iām dreaming of floating with DGD2 on the lazy river after boating to and then back at MK to meet Minnie and ride Dumbo.

All Star Movies Building 5 is Fantasia. Building 8 is Fantasia 2000.

Never really took note of that. Looks like the Fantasia 2000 building is the Brave Tin Soldier, one of the segments I didnāt mention in my post above.

We just had this exact conversation over dinner. We know what we pay per month for our dues on 300 points. The math is insane when you extrapolate it out to the number of points that some people have.

I adore these!
But I just saw the Grand Villa and those ginko leaf chandeliers. Between those and the River Country themeing (was there as a kid) this resort has a lot of family nostalgia for me.

Ooh, Iāve been meaning to tell you that the Disney Cruise ships have SO MUCH Art at the kiosks. Wish I took pictures of the options.
If these point charts are anywhere close to this, I will be holding onto my AK resale contract instead of trading it in, beautiful Bambi be damned.
