I didn’t weigh in on it, but I know there have to be many non-kids who want this!

I think it is the internet fretting about FNAF and what it will do to the age make up of the attendees. I mean there is also Terrifier this year, so hopefully no one is taking 10 year olds in there.

I am watching some of the Youtube “Kill Count” videos to give me my rundown without have to watch all of them. After turning my eyes away at a heavily blurred Kill Count videos will not be going in Terrifier and I will definately not be bringing my newly-turned-15yo in there.

But if parents bring their kids for FNAF, rides and scare zones - that will make the other lines less crowded - so there is an upside.

As an aside - some of the Bray Wyatt video summaries have been really interesting.

My adult son was just talking about a young child that I had to protect and comfort through a house a couple of years ago. He was alone. I was glad to do it, My son is still horrified the child was alone. There always have been and always will be children/young adults at HHN. I know Universal tried to make rules regarding this, but it is really impossible to stop.

Wow - I am with your son. Amd it is definitely impossible to stop. I feel like Universal is pretty clear with their warnings. But many people are angry at them for including FNAF because it attracts a younger crowd. I am just excited for those animatronics.

I have, literally and honestly, seen babies and infants carried into these houses in past years. It’s insane! The volume alone must be deafening!!

So any updated tip/strategies for stay and scream? It is different this year…so do you just get in line for a house at 4pm?

@josephmatt , thank you for this blog post! I just sent it to my friend that is already terrified and she is not going until next month!

Great article! It really helps lay out what to expect.

Out of curiousity - is your friend going because she is going with someone who really wants to attend? Or is she really interested in attemding, but is easily scared?

I’m just curious what motivates people to attend who are really scared.

I used to be terrified due to bad experiences at haunted houses as a kid.

However, my kid REALLY wanted to go. I put on my big boy pants and took her.

It was after only one night I saw how NOT scary the event really is. The ScareZones are just kids wandering around in masks.

The only parts that are scary are the houses. Even those get less scary after going through them. By the third time you know where all the scares are and can laugh and look at the sets.

I am going on a 3 night trip with two friends I have known for over 20 years. One friend, when we started planning begged to go to HHN. My other friend is going for her.

I started as the “boss”. They followed me from one school to another and they are now both elementary school principals. When I told them I was retiring (way before any official announcement) I promised I would not leave their lives and agreed to an annual Disney trip.

It is funny because my scared friend’s grown son (who I think I met way before I hired her, when he started kindergarten) laughed so hard at the idea of his mom going on any rides. We are going to MNNSHP so that she can trick or treat. This trip will more be about us being together.

My DIL tells me when you wear the necklace the scare actors may come up to you and chant “scary cat, scary cat”- oh how I wish that is true.

I also really appreciate how talented some of the scare actors are.

This trip sounds amazing, and good for her for doing things that challenge her for the sake of the group.

If trick or trreating is her highlight, I love for her that there are characters in some of the lines this year!

It is! I’ve seen a few IGs and TikToks where it happens!

I’m wondering if this is in the Cat Lady Scare zone, because if so, that it is simply delightful.

We went last night and I don’t know about all the other houses, but people are definitely lining up for FNAF before 4:00. We did the Scream Early tickets and I had originally thought we could perhaps do rides from 3-5 since we had express pass from staying at Portofino Bay, but my DD17 really wanted to do FNAF and I had seen that the line for that has been reaching capacity shortly after 4:00 and staying pretty long all night. So we decided to do just one ride right after getting our wristbands. We went to E.T. since it’s one of the rides not open during the party, then we went to line up for FNAF. The line wasn’t officially open yet, but we waited in the line to enter the official line. Then at 4:00, we were let into a big building where we were were able to sit and wait for the 5:15 opening time. Once the house opened, it took maybe 10 or 15 minutes to get to the house door.
