HHN 34 (2025) News, Updates, Planning

I’m going again in October with just DH and I, so I will have to try that strategy! He could care less about FNAF and will not want to wait very long for anything, so I think we will likely do stay and scream and try to knock out a few at the beginning. Also, when we did Terrifier last night, we got in line just before 6:30 with a 60 minute posted wait time. Our actual wait was only 24 minutes.

Super helpful thank you! This is DD14(almost 15)’s first HHN and she really wants FNAF.

I’m hoping to skip Terrifier. DD14 is ok with the miss but my new sister in law and her DD17 are coming down to meet us, and not sure about them. I need to sort priorities with her.

This is my usually HHN strategy. The big name IPs tend to be near the park entry / “New York”

If you go towards MIB there are 4 houses in that area. Just like most other theme attractions people tend to stop at the first one / big name they see.

Yeah with WWE, Five Nughts at Freddie’s and Terrifier being in the front I am sure it is quite crowded up there!

I’ll be there with my newly turned 15 DD and watched a walk through of Terrifier to see if it was better than the movie to be okay for her. It is not! Maybe you can split up for a House if your sister in law wants to go?

Also super good to know. If anyone really wants to do it, it’ll be her daughter but yes, I was thinking the same. I’ll be really happy to get your impressions since you’re a couple weeks ahead of us. I know you’re doing the RIP tour and we’re not, but of the houses & stuff.

I’m excited that they’re coming, my brother recently remarried so it’ll be good to spend some time with them but I’m also really stressed now about the planning when we were going to just plan out our few must-do items and otherwise just kindof take it as it comes, accepting that we won’t do it all.

I have a question for @len or @josephmatt or anyone else who has been this year. I want to make sure houses are somewhat appropriate for DD15 but don’t want to spoil things for myself by watching walk throughs.

I know this is purely a parent’s discretion thing, so I’ll ask the question differently. We aren’t doing Terrifier (I have watched that walk through) because of the level of gore and additionally, I find the violence to be sexualized.

If Terrifier is a 10/10 for gore and nudity are there any other houses that you would rate as an 8/10 or higher for either category? If so, I’ll watch those walk throughs too. Thanks

Hey @heathernoel !

Yeah, Terrifier was at the far end of the gore for me.

The rain caused me to miss WWE, El Artiste, and Five Nights at Freddy’s, even with Express Pass, so I don’t have first-hand knowledge of those.

Of the rest, I don’t remember any of them being as gratuitous as Terrifier. Hatchet and Chains is a spinoff of the Slaughter Sinema concept, and so there’s blood there. But the premise is presented in a less gross way, because Slaughter Sinema is a campy look at the genre to start with.

There was one house - I think it was Galkn - where IIRC you’re in a monster’s stomach. But again, nothing as gross as Terrifier. Plus the stave church in Galkn actually smells like the stave churches I’ve been to in (the real) Norway. So that’s fun.

I also really liked Nightmare Fuel again this year.

Thank you so much! I am pretty confident that FNAF, WWE and El Artista will be okay. I’d be devastated to miss Galkin as we are really looking forward to that one from a themeing perspective and your description makes me even more excited for the details.

I really like Universal’s stage shows so am glad Nightmare Fuel is still going strong.

I am going to night and tomorrow night. I will keep you question in mind and sask my son and DIL their thoughts as we go through the houses.

@heathernoel , we did all 10 houses on Saturday night and repeated 6 of them tonight.

There will be gore in many houses, many times that gore is not from scare actors, it is mannequins. Examples may be half bodies, bodies hanging from the ceilings, blood splattered on the walls.

I asked my son and daughter and law (we vote on our favorite houses. We all loved Galkin but we think you might want to watch the walk thorough (if available). It is a beautiful house and the scare actors do an amazing job, but there seems to be a lot of gore (it was a favorite we did it twice). Hatchet was on our list last night, but after doing it a 2nd tome tonight, we think Galkin might be the one to look at. We all agree that Terrifier is the only house that sexualizes the violence. I hope we didn’t miss any thing!

Have a great time!

It sounds like you had a wonderful two nights! Thanks for this report. I appreciate the detail!

What was your strategy? Did you go-to NY area first of the back right? How were the crowds late night? Glad you had a great time..

I had express for both nights. This was two years in a row that Sunday night waits were two to three times longer than Saturday. We did Terrifier as our 2nd house on night one, and then headed to Jason, then did all the back houses in order.

Last night at midnight the crowds in the streets thinned out but that did not happen Saturday. That being said, Terrifier was over 2 hours standby around 11?

I’m so jealous! I know it would’ve broken DD23’s heart to go without her though!!

I learned after my very first night of HHN that I would never go without express passes, even if I was local.:rofl:

Oh wow! I’m going a week from Thursday… with Express pass. I don’t have early entry this year. What time did u get at the gates? Also what time were u let through? I was thinking of getting in line at 5pm??

I was staying on site. Saturday was arrival day, we got to the resort guest entrance about 6:25. Last night we were about 3 minutes later. We were out of our first house by about 6:50 both nights. We missed one scare zone when we did all houses and we didn’t see any shows. I am going next month with two friends and express pass. I am only planning 5 houses.

FNAF is pretty kid frendly, WWE has some bloody figures of WWE employees “killed”, and El Artista is mostly demons and terrors not gore.
