I’m so sorry for your loss.
Losing a parent is hard. Sending a hug your way.
So very sorry, Randall.
I’m so sorry, Randell. Praying for comfort in this time of great grief. Like others have said-if you need a place to vent, feel free💕
I’m so very sorry. I’ll echo what the others have said. Use this forum to vent.
Oh @Randall1028 I am so sorry for your loss.
I felt as if I knew your mom just from all the wonderful photos and your trip recaps.
Take the time to grieve and be gentle with yourself. Only YOU know what works in time of loss, and if it’s Disney? Then it’s Disney.
My heart aches for you though. I know you were close. Hearing you speak about her earlier this month was so special, just knowing that you had such a great mom and how close you were.
Again, I am so sorry for your loss and I’m sorry this is how you are closing out 2018.
So sorry for your loss, praying for your family through this hard time.
I am so very sorry Randall for the loss of your mom. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family over the next days and months.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Many thoughts and prayers are being sent your way.
I followed your last trip, and even from that brief exposure I could tell how very much you cared for her and how fortunate she was to have a son like you.
The only bit of advice I could offer about whether to go back to WDW is that after my brother died quite unexpectedly, my sis and I, and our families still went on a trip we had already planned, and it was a very good thing to do because we were able to share so many memories & process our grief without the normal demands of every day life. I’m not sure I, personally, would have wanted to go alone. That is only something you can decide. But perhaps just hold off canceling any trips until this terrible, acute phase passes. There is still much you will have to get through in the next little while before making any decisions. God bless you, and grant your mother peace.
I am so sorry for your, loss, @Randall1028. I am quite sure that the last few days have been difficult for you, and that the days soon to come will not be easy, either.
Like so many have already said, please feel free to come by here and share whatever it is you need.
I’ll close by offering you virtual hugs in this time when you’re trying to find comfort. On top of that, while I know that it is not the top of your priority list, should you findyourself in the World during the upcoming marathon weekend, I’ll offer to meet you for tangible hugs, too.

As many have stated, this is a question only you can answer. I can share a friend’s experience. A friend lost her 7 year old son the day after Christmas (6 years ago) in a tragic accident. They were a very Disney centric family. Two months after loosing her son she went to Disneyland. I seriously questioned whether or not I could do this if it were my child. She described her experience as difficult and cathartic. Please know that no matter what you decide, I am holding you and your mom in my heart. Hugs to you!
I’m so sorry for your loss Randall. You are an amazing son to your mom and it really showed. I am sure she felt all your love. I know that this is a difficult time, but I hope you find peace and comfort with all the memories you have made together.
This is sad news indeed
I also followed along on your trip reports and loved reading/seeing your experiences with your mom and how much you cared for her! I have no personal experience dealing with a loss that close, so I cannot imagine how it feels. Thinking of you!!

So very sorry for your loss. Your mom was lucky to have you as a son and you made some wonderful Disney memories together.
I am so sorry Randall. I hope you can take some solace from the memories you have of your vacation at Disney, and how happy it made her.
So sorry for your loss. Thinking of you and your family. Take care and hold on tight to all those wonderful memories you made. X
I am so, so sorry for your loss. may her memory be for a blessing. i lost my grandfather last week and my stepdad last month, both were not unexpected deaths but still so hard to experience so I offer you my very heartfelt sympathies and understanding. I hope the kind folks here can be some measure of comfort.
I am so sorry for your lose. I lost my husband in May and understand how empty those words can be, but I understand the pain you are feeling. For me, planning a trip has been extremely helpful. It has been a wonderful escape from reality. My two children, 16 and 18, and I will be going in February. I know this will be a great trip, but not the same as our previous trips. We are now a family of 3. Few rides are made for 3 and I will be reminded of my husband’s death each time I ride solo. I also know that life goes on and this is what I have to remind myself everyday. If you are not ready to go, set a day further out and think about the plans. Where do you want to stay, eat, etc. The pain of death can’t be forgotten but you can escape for a little bit. Take care
I am so sorry. Thinking about you. I hope you can find comfort in the great memories you have of her and your trips together.
I’m so very sorry for your loss. I so enjoyed reading about your mom and your trips together and I hope you are able to find moments of time to help you figure out what makes sense for you and what you want to do.
