Feeling down - this world is crazy. Lift me up with

Just a thank you to everyone for sharing today. It really lifted my spirits. And although I know the world is no less crazy than it was this morning, I have been reminded of happy things and my favorite place. And that has been more than enough on this day.

My personal favorite for me to meet was my all-time favorite bouncy pouncy friend!!:heart_eyes::heart_eyes: (I used to have a dog named Tigger!)

Since we really didn’t “start” Disney-ing until my kids were already 10+, the characters haven’t been a huge thing for them… but… when we had to stand in a long line at HS last trip, I said, “now I understand how those parents feel standing in line with their little girls waiting for the princesses!” lol

Never too old for characters! But happy not to wait in forever long lines just the same lol

All time favorite … My sons were 3 and 6 years old, and provisioned with Disney autograph books and Mickey pens we headed off to the Character Breakfast at the Poly.

Goofy signs the oldest’s autograph book and when setting the pen down, clips the pen on the edge of the table and breaks off Mickey’s head. Instant tears! Goofy, not being able to see what happened, exits the dining room.

Disaster? Not at Disney. The ever vigilant CM who was escorting Goofy saw what had transpired and made some incredible magic. She went down the the gift shop, grabbed a exact replacement pen and another autograph book and brought Goofy back to our table and handed them to my son. The autograph book was inscribed “Dear Nicholas, I’m so sorry I broke your pen and hope you will forgive me” and was signed “Your pal forever, Goofy” .

We still have that book and pen tucked away in our Disney treasure chest.

I have 2. The first was when we walked into CP and Pooh was at the entrance and my 2.5 was sooo exited.

Then, my daughter had an airbrush tattoo that looked like Maleficent (it was actually Aries). Aurora commented on it at Akershus. The next day at CRT we had the same Aurora and she remembered my daughter!

I wore my Chip and Dale T to Garden Grill on Saturday. They went crazy for it, pointing at it and hugging me again and again, and Chip danced with me. It was super fun!

My favorite signatures had nothing to do with what you expect from the character meals. 1) my daughter who was almost 3 at the time asked our friend who was traveling with us to sign her book. He was very flattered. We were sitting at our table at 1900 Park Fare at the time and the characters had already visited our table. 2) I think the same visit she was dressed as Snow White and two strangers came up to us and asked her, our little Snow White, for her autograph in their books. It was so cute! They fawned over her for quite awhile. She was so young that she couldn’t actually write, I think she wrote an A.

@OBNurseNH Loving the idea of this thread. It may have started as therapy for you, but it has lifted my similarly dark mood wonderfully. Thanks.
I know I’m late to the party but there are two that come to mind, both involved DW. The first was in MK. We were just sitting at a table, and Lady Tremaine saw us, broke away from her handler and came up to DW and told her: “I just love your hair”. It was a hoot since DW had let hers go naturally grey not long before the trip. Second was a M&G with Mickey and Minnie at AK: DW is a HUGE Mickey fan. Minnie seemed to take exception to DW giving Mickey a little too much attention. She waved her finger and then gave her the “I’m watching you” signal. Even the photographer cracked up…
Hope your day gets better…

Jealous Donald provided one of our best meets. We were a bigger group at Chef Mickey’s, with 4 adults at one table and the 5 kids at another table. The characters had gotten a little backed up with our big group, and Donald had to wait for both Mickey and Minnie to finish with our group. While waiting, he sat down at our adult table, exasperated.

So Donald!!!

My 6 year old and my 2 year old loved characters SO much. 2 was terrified of almost all rides (except for IASW; we rode that multiple times) but hugged all of the characters so hard. Six was beyond thrilled to dance with Belle at ETwB.

Another one of the kids loving characters. We didn’t have any extra special character interactions, but my kids were so happy with the regular ones.

One of the best character encounters we ever had wasn’t even a Meet and Greet. We were standing behind the stage where the Star Wars show takes place and watching the characters entering and leaving from backstage.

DH had his Boba Fett hoodie on and Boba Fett stopped and gave DH a thumb up or a salute or something…an acknowledgment…that he approved of DH’s wardrobe choice.

Chewbacca, OTOH, was most displeased by DH’s wardrobe choice and made his unhappiness quite clear. He still took pictures with DH, though.
