F&G and Coronado Springs! A Live (ish) Solo Trip Report

That is GORGEOUS! So crisp and clean and such perfect lighting. Wow!

Because I had to be “rescued” from TSMM earlier this morning, I had an anytime FP to burn. Of all the parks to have an anytime FP, this is my least favorite because you can’t use it on either Star Wars ride, or Slinky Dog, or MMRR. That doesn’t leave many options. So I decided to use it for another go on TSMM to try and better my abysmal morning score (that was a fail!) plus I really do love that ride.

At this point, it’s pushing 5pm and I’ve literally ridden four rides… More precisely, I’ve ridden two rides two times apiece (MMRR and TSMM).
And I rope dropped.
AND was on the very first CSR bus to HS this morning. :grimacing: I feel like I really should just turn in my liner card right now! :woman_facepalming:

To be fair, I was stuck on TSMM for 30 minutes right at the start of the morning, so by the time I got off the park was mobbed. I had planned to do SD right after TSMM (which would have worked perfectly, since TSMM was a walk on). And then I left the park and Skyliner-ed to the Riviera for brunch and was not in a hurry. And I spent some time trying to find a good spot for grab a BG, then sipped a consolation frappuccino when I didn’t get one. AND had a leisurely sit-down lunch…

But still.

There seems to be very little room for error at the parks right now, between the spring break crowds and the lack of FPs. I used to FP my way through lots of rides each day, and without that strategy in my back pocket, I’m feeling very lost!

Fortunately, I’m the kind of person that loves just being in the parks and I don’t have a burning need to hit every ride in order to have a lovely time. If it was my first trip or if I had my family with me, I would definitely be feeling the frustration of not getting to do everything that I had hoped to do today.

It would be nice to catch Slinky Dog, ASS (ahem), and RotR on my second HS day, so we’ll see how that goes. I’d also like to enjoy just wandering through Batuu, but even that is a challenge, since you have wait in line to get into every store. I actually bailed on the marketplace queue today after waiting for 15 minutes and barely moving at all. :grimacing:

Anyway… Enough whining. Back to the pretty pictures!

I got lucky and the vehicle stopped for about two seconds so I could get a clear shot!

So how did I spend my evening after calling it quits at HS? Well, turns out I’m staying at a basically gorgeous resort, so I figured I’d do some exploring and take a dip in the pool before the evening got too chilly.

Thanks - I never did get around to doing a trip report for my Thanksgiving trip; maybe one of these days… funny thing is I did think of “what would @OBNurseNH 's reaction be” when taking pictures of the Tree of Life at AK

It does not make me sad that people think of me when they think of that magnificent tree.

It’s amazing the things that connect people. In another thread someone mentioned the cranes of WDW and how I pointed them out in a humorous fashion. It became a joke around here and I honest to God think of the people here whenever - and wherever - I see cranes. And I’ve never met most of you.

Pishaw to those who say online friendships cannot be made and are not real. Some of the best people in my life I only know because of forums like this

And with that deep thought, I wish you goodnight!

Oh wow, I need to pay more attention to who people are actually replying to!

That’s weird - in Nov we got anytime FPs when MMRR went down, and we were able to use it on MFSR (the CMs even said “any ride except ROTR”).

Even better though was when we practically walked on MFSR twice before a line even formed, on our 2nd HS day (after RD-ing SDD).

You can use a MMRR pass on MFSR cause they’re the same tier, but you can’t use a TSMM pass on one of the higher tier rides.

Yeah, figured that based on your posting history it was either going to be “swoon” or “heart stopped” or something to that effect

Indeed. How about this - on @bebe80’s trip report, it made me think he was married to Lisa Loeb :grinning: - because I had just gone through the SongExploder link that @cousin_maude posted (on @Randall1028’s trip report, which you helped derail with the insight about Semisonic’s Closing Time), from which I then clicked to Jewel’s SongExploder episode, which had a link to her music video on YouTube, which then showed a picture of Lisa Loeb in the “Related Videos” section.

Interesting, did not know that. This was our first trip, so we’ve never actually had any real experience with FPPs.

Sounds like it could potentially get quite messy if you have a mix of anytime FPPs, Rider Swaps etc. (e.g. found the thread below via search)

Tapped into AK at 7:25am but I’m a slow walker and kept stopping to take brief breaks because my old ankle injury decided that this was a good morning to remind me of its existence. So it took me almost 20 minutes to get to the end of the FOP line.

So, this was the end of the line for FOP at 7:43. Across the water from Nomad, just before crossing under the bridge on the path to Africa. TP predicted wait was 30 minutes at this point. By the time I reached the FP taps, the posted wait was 105 minutes. :flushed: Actual wait was 50 minutes for me, which is better than I was expecting with how slow I was getting to Pandora!
