They must be able to get the points back, at least at this point. Who would risk it?
So I believe it is expressly prohibited in the rules of DVC ownership to engage in renting your points as a business.
But it’s not enforced.
So let’s say you’re calling yourself a business and renting out points. Could you document a loss in your accounting ledger if you had points you never did rent? If so, might it make sense to that person to list it at such a crap rate in order to increase their chances of a loss at this late date?
IDK just thinking out loud. Could very well be this person thinks that would be a great deal.
I did ask the chat for one of the rentals that was listed for a stupid price if they advise on what a rental should be listed for and they said they can and often do but in the end it’s up to the owner.
The points will go into holding. Depending on the use year that might not be too bad. But even being in holding is rough, given how restricted availability sometimes is, since you have to book inside of 60 days to use the points.
So if they go into holding they have 60 days to book or lose?
No.
They have to use before the end of the use year or they lose them.
But, they can’t book for more than 60 days out. So if today I have points in holding that I want to use, I cannot book beyond 3/19 (roughly speaking - not going to math it to be precise). For me, my use year is December, so that’s a lot of time to try to use the points. But if their use year is soon… that could be tough.
Ahh got it. Thanks! So Disney is teaching you a lesson for not canceling in a timely manner.
More or less.

There’s no @JJT spreadsheet voodoo going on, so don’t get your hopes up all you spreadsheet geeks.

Well it is a Wednesday and is coming up in just a few days. But it’s a great deal for someone who can use it.
Right but $150?!
I’m almost ready to jump on a plane over it lol
It is a preferred to boot!
I mean, barsed on previous prices recorded, anything near $300 /night is a good deal
It’s 15 points, so that’s $10/pt, which is just fine for last minute fire-sales.
