Sure, we’ll probably see some lower December prices for this room as the end of the year approaches… BUT fewer than a dozen 7-nighters over 2 years were at this price or lower.
7-night SSR Studio 12/17 for $317/night or 7% under median
For all multi-night listings: Two years ago, large number of listings in this price range for June, but most of those appeared back out at 11 months. Last year almost crickets.
For 7-nights: there was one last year. This is a GRAB IT NOW Deal
If you are OK with booking a rental 11 months out, this is actually a great price for March.
FWIW: Most of the 5-night or longer listings appear right now at 11 months out - with another smattering possible about 50-75 days out.
5-night BW Studio 03/01 for $411/night or 19% under median
After seeing both those SSR and GF almost back-to-back, I am SO curious if there is any pattern as far as popular months for amazing last minute deals. Like, -45% or better, start date within a week.
I’m wondering if people hold on so long to April listings because it’s a popular Disney travel month and so they keep it high high high and only drop it at the last possible second. Or likewise, maybe that would be so for Dec-Feb start dates. Maybe you’d see fewer hot last minute deals for the summer, or October. Whenever slow Disney travel months are… if they exist… which I’m realizing as I type that they may not
We are definitely in a transition from many, many, 1-night listings to longer ones, so we are likely in flux now.
There are “sort of” general patterns for when things tend to show up, but I still really can’t say there is any sort of rule like “wait until 14-days before and you’ll see a bunch of price drops.”
It is all very randomish. A weird combination of some human factor and some business decisions has them listing TONS of rentals at really high prices that never change. Only something like 18% of all listings ever change in price.
I do plan to publish some comprehensive standard charts on my search engine site, but I have to get my cats in a row and make that site something more useful than just the simple pages I threw out there.
I need to get myself situated and zone in on what I really want to watch for. You shared at least three today that historically would fit my schedule, but I have no idea what is going on this year
Not a high volume room in May.
There have been some much lower priced listings, but they are a bit rando - AND this one is Theme Park View, so I’m calling this price drop a very nice deal.
5-night BLT 1 Bedroom Theme Park View 05/27 orig $1,026/night now $758/n or 12% under median
