3-night Aulani 2 Bedroom 10/15 for $1,122/night or 25% under
Only 5 total listings for this 2BR in October in the data, so hard to say from that how good a deal this is alone - another instance like the earlier one today where the month-specific median is very different than the median for ALL listings in the database, regardless of date.
Price Drop:
6-night BW 1 Bedroom 08/23 orig $713/night now $499/n or 33% under median
The 2-night or longer charts have far more shorter stays - there have only been EIGHT 6-night or longer rentals for this room in August since 2023, only two of those were priced lower.
In reality: looking at 7-nights or longer, extremely rare to see a price lower than this, and if you did, it would more likely have been at 7 months out.
That same 7-night or longer chart has many more listings on it when looking at all dates, not just August, but concept still holds: fairly rare to see a better price for a long BC studio appear around this price or lower after the 7-month drop.
As I was using the tool from Post #1, I followed a link. At the top of their website offering, I then followed a link to the search page. When I put in my specific dates, I was able to find many offerings for my dates that aren’t coming up with the tool. Are they altering larger listings to offer “clips” of larger tips, or something?
For 8/10-8/14, there are 30 offers.
Additionally, at the end of the list, they offer “close to what you requested.”
One is one date short of what I want, but just $654 for OKW for three nights.
I may do that one! I would do one night at All Stars and then move there.
If so - most of those results are not their dedicated rentals - I believe they are using recently looked up DVC availability and are telling you what it would cost if they could grab those dates for you, and in between you will also see the dedicated listings that match the search, like this one:
Results based on availability data received within the past 24 hours. Availability subject to change. All funds to be refunded in the event reservation is no longer available.
Reservations less than 4 months before check-in and Confirmed Reservations must be paid in full at time of booking.
For the non-dedicated ones in that list, I assume it is a sort of FastPass to making a regular booking request - but it could turn out that availability is gone by the time you ask for it.
So you are saying, I could fill it all out and pay them, and they then have the money, but they could end up telling me that room isn’t available, and I may have given them money and now HAVE to work with them til they find something (anything) available, even if the cost is more than I want?
For the record, here is how AK Kidani dedicated listings for August have appeared since 2023 - I set the green bar at $266, which is the lowest of those three listings above.
The other two listings are $323/n (Savannah) and $434/n (Dedicated).
The Savannah is over the August-specific median for studios, but for that room view I’m thinking it is a win.
The dedicated is 24% OVER median and sad trombone a loser.
You need to double check with them for their policy, but I read those terms as “if you request this thing I am showing you and we can’t actually get it, we’ll give you your money back.”
All funds to be refunded in the event reservation is no longer available.
okay - I saw that too. I can totally live with that. Thank you for your help
And, thank you @drvillarejos & @Jennifer_B_568600 for your enabling.
I’ll let you know what happens. I won’t tell Marie until it’s a done deal. Then I will d/c my Priceline ASMu and do a single night. I won’t get AS good a rate for one night as it isn’t “Stay Longer and Save,” but it is still crazy low rn.
I won’t get to RD breakfast if this works out, but we will get to do something new and partake in the late hours.
I know NOTHING about this resort and where to ask for a room. Something near a parking lot.
If you are thinking about this OKW listing, While there were several lower-priced 2-night or longer OKW studios last year, can’t really count on that. $209/night is pretty great IMHO.
The green bar in this chart is set at $209 for reference.
Most of the lower priced OKW studios appeared under 30 days from check in.
If I limit this chart to match 3-nights or longer, about 4 of the under 30days dots go away.
After tax, it’s a total of $155.78 more to do 1 night AS + 3 nights OKW, than my original four nights at ASmu. Yes, we have to move, but we are RD Epcot our first park day and can put our stuff in the car in the morning (oh - we can eat breakfast that day), and then if we think we’d like to leave and come back for Extra Evening Hours, we can do that for a few hours and then go back.
My work computer doesn’t have speakers. And we cancelled our cable services so can’t connect on my phone. But you can listen in on live news programs on Alexa for free. I just don’t like to play it out loud since there is no pause button on the echo dots. I can just pop my ear bud out as needed.
