Those numbers helped juice up the 2025 line on my Active Rentals by day chart - as of today there are about 275 more rentals listed than there were last year on this date, but just about 500 fewer than there were in 2023.
Today and tomorrow both have about 75 rentals starting - I’m wondering if they decided they didn’t want to take a hit on their dedicated inventory levels so booked a bunch before they dropped off?
I can’t think why one would do that though, are they holding points in reserve to time the market? and then book a bunch of 2BR Villas and list them for exorbitant amounts?
After yesterday’s rentalpaloooza, only 10 new rentals this morning so far…
…Most are around median, but there’s one terrific deal - an probably has a very niche target audience because it is FOURTEEN DAYS:
14-night Poly Studio 09/10 for $342/night or 35% under median
So, this is the very bottom of the price scale even when looking at all rentals 2-nights or longer - for 2 solid weeks! Have there been 1-nighters cheaper? Sure - but not many at all.
Looking at my Price by Days out from Check in charts - here’s what September looks like for Poly Studios by date with 1-nighters showing up as orange dots:
Same chart, but just looking at 7-nights or longer: You can see the median for that room in that time frame is over $500 and VERY few rentals down below that line.
We are at 207 days out from check in right now and in the past there has been exactly one >7-night November rental appear any later than this below median (at 125 days out.)
