So far the trip is on schedule even though there were some minor delays with the plane. Left the house at 2:30 am. Boarded at 4:30. Plane took off at 5:30. I just boarded the Magical Express and it left immediately after boarding. I’m on my way to Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Ok. This is already the best hotel I’ve ever been in and I’ve barely looked around the lobby.
I have a full schedule of sitting by this fire until my boma breakfast reservation at 10:30.

That goat cheese and spinach scrambled eggs
so good.The asparagus was amazing. The flavor was so unique. The salmon was great and so was the bread pudding.
Stuffed and now I might hit up the pool but I forgot my sunscreen in my other bag I left with bell services. Hopefully my room is ready soon.

There is a large locker room with showers near the entrance to the Mara (lockers outside). Sunscreen in the store…just saying…

I just changed in the locker room lol but not into my swimsuit. Changed out of my warm travel clothes. Not feeling buying sunscreen when I have some. Going back into the air conditioning.

This is making me want to consider AKL for our next trip! Great idea getting there so early.
TP room request worked! Even though I have a standard room I have a balcony with a view of the animals.
This room is heavenly. I love the petroglyphs wall art and I’m so glad it is shower only. The bed is very firm though.

Do you mean their offer to fax a request? I almost forgot about that - did you tell TP anything in particular or did they have a default AKL fax?
Nice! Refurb’d room! I MUCH prefer that table over the large round one they used to have.
On the TP website there is a way to look at rooms in each resort and see what the view is like from that room. There is a button to click and do a room request from there. It auto does it and I added a note that i was ok with the third or 4th floor I just wanted to be facing the same way and in the same block as the room number I sent and I got it. I think they just started doing emails instead of faxes. It was easy and it worked. I wish I could do it for dolphin and universal. (I don’t have universal TP so I don’t know if it’s available there).
