DCL Offer for Deluxe Resort Guests

Did you all discuss this already?

This is an UNHEARD OF discount offer for guests of WDW Deluxe Resorts

Within 7 days of checkout, guests at WDW Deluxe Resorts can book a sailing on DCL select cruises and save up to 25% off! The only other requirement besides booking within that 7 day window is that you must sail within 24 months - TWO FULL YEARS! - of your checkout date.

If you’re staying Deluxe soon, I would definitely look at this offer. Re-entry can be a chaotic time and with a short booking window you’ll want to have your selections queued up and ready to roll pretty much immediately!

There is also a reverse offer for guests who sail DCL and book a later stay at a Deluxe resort!

Do we know how long this offer lasts?

I specifically asked my agent group this morning. None of us sees an endpoint on the details.

Thanks! We aren’t staying deluxe until May, which may be too late but we will see!

I don’t think so. :crossed_fingers:

Do DVC stays count for this?

I do not see a restriction on it.

I double check fine print for “cash stays only” statement.

That will be perfect for booking my Christmas cruise on the Dream next year! I’ll set a reminder.

Wah wahhhhhhhhhh

“Disney Vacation Club points cannot be used to book sailing”

That’s a different question from mine though, right?

Oh wait - yes maybe?

I read it as stays (using DVC points). But I guess it does say you can’t book the voyage with points.

Hmmm…

I wonder if someone who is going on points soon would see if the offer pops into their booking offers??

I doubt it. Disney aren’t getting any money from your DVC points stay.

Or do you mean can you book a cash DVC resort room? Yes, but only if you book through Disney not MS.

This offer shows that not only are WDW bookings down but DCL must be worried too.

The hotel room discount after a cruise doesn’t only apply to deluxe resorts, it’s all resorts. Less of a discount:

Up to 35% at Disney Deluxe and Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts
Up to 30% at Disney Moderate Resorts
Up to 25% at Disney Value Resorts

Ah thanks for clarifying. I didn’t get an email about that, just heard in passing that there was a reciprocal offer.

Yes, I posted nearly this same thing in the DCL section and @ryan there pointed out that bookings may not actually be down. It may be that the same number of bookings are being made, but with a fleet that has grown quite a bit in the last few years, they may not be filling all of the ships. Which means they are operating at a loss even if bookings (numbers of) is stable.

My friend just got off a cruise like two days ago. Could she book a room with me as the lead and get the discount? If not, could she book a room with her as the lead, but then not ever show up?

This is a possibility. As long as she links your profile on your reservation, you’d be able to go straight to your room and never need to see the front desk. Occupancy would be limited by one less than max due to her taking up a spot.

I don’t know if you can book a room for someone else using a discount offer, but seems like it should be possible.

The person who sailed (or stayed) has to be on the discounted booking no matter what

But do they have to actually show up?
