I’m kind of in this boat. But when I was at the Grand Canyon last week, there was this guy at the Visitor’s Center dressed up in a very raggedy Cookie Monster costume asking if anyone wanted a picture with him. It was creepy af and made me appreciate Disney characters more! It’s especially nice that they have a CM escort so you don’t hear the raspy stoner voice of the guy in the suit. :joy:

Wow that certainly paints a picture in my mind

Speaking of pictures, I love your new avatar! Do you have the full picture? I assume that is you and not one of your kids, but it’s hard to see.

I just picture Cousin Greg inside every character costume.

Thank you and yes, it is me! I had to grab a solo photo since I bought a shirt and ears for our first ride!

That is awesome! I couldn’t even tell you were wearing Cosmic Rewind merch in the smaller photo. I wish you could zoom into avatars.

You should see the … interesting …characters available for photos (for a price of course) in New York’s Times Square. I am surprised little kids aren’t running from them screaming!

I have seen those! I have to say that the Vegas “characters” are worse though. :flushed:

(Except that one guy who was pleasuring himself in Times Square a couple of years back. :flushed::flushed::flushed: Though I’m sure there has been plenty of that in both locations.)

Vegas, and Hollywood are similar… yes.

The guy in Vegas wearing chaps with his bare ass hanging out actually showed more skin than the showgirl he was standing next to!

… and NYC has cleaned up a lot. Traveling through Penn Station as a college student in the 90’s was quite the education!

You should see the Moynihan Train Station!! It is gorgeous!!!

Amtrak is out of there now.

Other than the pandemic shut down, I manage to be in Penn Station at least once or twice a year. It is significantly nicer than what it used to be!

Dd and I were just there in early May when we took NJTransit from Trenton to go up and see The Music Man.

Did they rename Penn Station for Moynihan?

No. Penn is now predominantly NJ Transit.

Moynihan Train Hall is across 8th Ave connected to the post office building. It is gorgeous!! Amtrak and some LIRR.

Ahhh… so the LIRR portion of Penn Station? Growing up on Long Island, my dad rise the LIRR daily. My trek back and forth to college involved a SEPTA bus then subway, then SEPTA Regional Rail (to Trenton), NJTransit (to Penn Station), then finally the LIRR (Ronkonkama Line).

Basically I navigated multiple transit types across three states!

LIRR is still in the OG Penn as well. If you go towards the A/C/E but not into the subway, there is a walkway that leads to the Moynihan Hall going under 8th.

Ahhhh, gotcha. Haven’t taken the LIRR in over 30 years.

After college I started driving to my parent’s house.
