I can see that. I’m not married (any more) so don’t have to worry about my (ex)husband. But most of my marriage was like this. He is such an introvert and it was always a struggle to get him to go do things with me. And then I spent the whole time worried that he wasn’t having a good time. (This isn’t why we aren’t married any more, however. And we are still friends and good co-parents. We even jumped in his van together in March to drive to California to pick up our daughter from college when the campus closed with only a few days notice.) BUT my daughters are great partners in crime especially for Disney.
I remember those pics from your report! That’s the great thing about disney though. The CMs don’t make it awkward it all. I loved my solo DL trip, character meets and all.
I have done a couple of solo trips, and they can be fun. I enjoy the shared experience more, especially being with my wife or with friends. Being with kids is its own adventure, but one that I can only handle so much! Adults only is probably my favorite configuration, but an occasional trip with kids helps keep the magic alive.
I love going with my niece (also in AZ) and her family. She has five kids ages 2-7. It is definitely a different experience! But a lot of fun in it’s own way.
Hagrids!!
Enjoy your day-it looks fantastic so far!
How did you get a picture of you on the train alone?
It actually was the first CM who made me feel awkward! He came to let us into the waiting area and there was me and a teenage girl behind me, I think that was it (FP line). He asked if we were a party of 2 and I said no, one and he was confused by it. We had to explain that I was a 1 and she was a 1, and I wasn’t confused about how many were in my party!!
Oh - for sure that would matter a TON. I have no shortage of happy co-travelers, however.
You got pics ON Hagrid’s?!
I see evidence of a finger in that picture blocking part of the camera…so I’m guessing it was taken by someone riding in the train just ahead of that one.
It’s the same for me. I have a bunch of collectibles (board games) that I enjoy having, but mostly sit on a shelf. I have been selling them and that’s how I gotten the money for my “bucket list” solo trip for the 50th (whenever that’s going to be now??)
If I can’t do a that big trip for the 50th, I’m still going to keep that savings. However, I still want to go to Orlando in 2021 (pending COVID). My dream is to get a UOAP and go at least 3 times. So, I’m seriously thinking about getting a part time “fast food / retail” job on the weekends. I’m hoping for something that I can do to make like $100 (net) per week. About every 2 months I’d have enough “extra” money to go for a long weekend.
(I figure if I go out & get an “extra” job that I can do whatever I want with that income.)
@Julianne_fki - OMG! I’m in the same boat. My DW, who is awesome, is a compulsive reader. It’s all she does & wants to do. I occasionally will read a book or series she likes to have that to talk about & because we do have similar tastes. However, she reads from the moment she wakes up and keeps going until she has to stop. (Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. She’s amazing! It’s just an issue to get her out of the house.)
Just turned around and took the picture of my daughter, that is at the end of the ride.
Yes, I took my phone on it. Kept it in my pocket until the end when we were stopped.
Are we married to the same person?
Oops that’s my finger. It’s so dang bright out I cannot see!
You might both be married to me!
I don’t have pockets that will hold a phone
Not in my holiday wear anyway!
I think there is a conspiracy against woman…even when clothiers give them pockets, they make them unsuitably small unless all you carry with you is a tube of Chapstick or something.
Cargo shorts come in women’s styles and sizes
