Well @Jeff_AZ no pics for you. Pearl Harbor has signs up all over. I was taking pics of this really cool ship and both my guys yelled, “Stop! Don’t you see the signs?!?”:rofl:

They yelled at me again. Please don’t take any pics on base. Sigh. I’ve never seen bougainvillea trained as a hedge before. You are my accomplice

Gorgeous photos. I can’t believe you have to leave.

I don’t want to leave but I want to get to my own kitchen and kitty cats. I’m already planning next year.

Awesome! You’ve got the points. Use them.

There are a lot of things we didn’t do but I knew as an annual trip we’d have another chance

Thanks for posting these! Keep 'em (covertly) coming! The vibe of the base is totally coming back to me. I wish I could go there but I need an escort from current military personnel to get on - my dad is ex-military, doesn’t count as “retired” since he left before a certain threshold (honorably, just didn’t qualify for lifelong benefits).

ETA: Is that Hickam Beach?

Well if we are here at the same time we can escort y’all on base to find your old haunts.

You are very close to where we lived! My old house is the red X. On Worchester Ave.

You can see Honolulu and the airport from here

I think they closed off the neighborhood. But this is the address (the actual house number was 27, but the map is telling me 13):

13 Worchester Ave, Honolulu, HI 96818

Wow that’s close. Those houses are still there.

If you are able to snap any pics (even PM) I’m sure my parents would love to see. If not, I understand!

Sorry… didn’t see this. :pensive:. We are in USO now. Visiting with the volunteer veterans here

In USO. Pretty vacant. I think a pic is ok. All snacks are free but we have to take them outside to eat b/c masks are not allowed to be removed here now. Had to show mil-ID ( of course), boarding passes and CDC vaccination cards to get in. There is an awesome collection of coins at the tables.

ETA: This is a nice service for traveling families, I’ve seen foreign dignitaries b4. All food is donated. Free WiFi, rest rooms and a family room.

No worries! Thanks anyway! It’s been wonderful living vicariously through your trip the last week. So sad you’re going home!
