You Might Want to Buckle Up, Baby! A Weekend Getaway Trip Report

Wow this looks amazing!! I would love something like this. Looks like you and DW are creating a lovely tradition for yourselves going to this each year

Looks like it has been a fabulous trip. Just following along has made me miss DL so much! Fabulous pictures  The Incredicoaster is my favorite Disney ride. I’d gladly ride it on repeat!

See @Wahoohokie, @Julianne_fki and @Dreamer, @Jeff_AZ and his DW know the right way to do DL! Take notes :joy:

This seems to be a continuous comparison. I’m guessing her opinion is not the widely accepted one?

Seriously. Do you want to travel without us?

I think I have heard of others taking the opposite view. The batter was thicker and puffier than at Cafe Orleans. Maybe that is a personal preference sort of thing. I don’t know - I don’t like ham and cheese with my chicken, so it’s not my thing, unfortunately. :grimacing:

We’re doing a late start today after two very long days! We’ll be in the park around 9:30.

It’s a zoo today! Labor Day weekend has begun. Such a stark contrast to the past two days of low crowds. The monorail was down so we had to walk to the main entrance. When we got in the park around 9:30, I immediately got a LL for Haunted Mansion Holiday, which just opened yesterday. The return time was 2pm! And it is down right now for some reason, though some people are waiting outside in a roped off queue.

We mobile ordered beignets and then hopped in a 45 min posted wait for Splash at about 9:45. It is so devilishly hot today I will gladly wait for this ride. Thankfully we’re in the shade.

Also pictured: Mickey floral with artificial turf for @mkmuzzy. Looks great to me! Plus the headboard in our room at the Disneyland hotel.

It was truly 45 min wait! Well worth it though. Love that ride! And we didn’t get soaked, just a little wet.

Now for a dole whip and some AC! Best way to cool off.

We rode Peter Pan, then saw the Sleeping Beauty diorama before ducking into Great Moments of Mr Lincoln. It’s like a refrigerator in here. Glorious!

Everyone should see Great Moments of Mr Lincoln. Regularly. It’s the best. Very similar to Hall of Presidents and American Adventure in tone and content.

Now we’re riding Winnie the Pooh for completionism. 5 minute posted wait, may end up being closer to 10. Mostly shaded. It’s such a hot day! Worse than WDW in some ways. It’s almost as hot as Phoenix and almost as humid as Orlando.

Yuck! I do think it depends on what you are used to. When we lived in AZ and went to CA in the summer the humidity felt crazy! DD was there a couple weeks ago and the locals were all complaining about how hot it was and she thought it was perfect!

Those temps are gross!

I checked and it is 47% humidity right now. That would feel “quite humid” to Jeff (and me too) as we have such little humidity to deal with on a regular basis. But after spending 17 days in July/August in Orlando, 47% sounds lovely. Orlando feels like soup, I have never felt that in California. Miserably hot, yes. But like soup, no. That feeling seems to be mostly for Orlando.
