I don’t remember hearing a voice at all. I wonder if they do turn it off sometimes.

@sanstitre_has_left_the_building did you hear a voice on the skyliner?

It makes me look fat:

Some people have the ability to block out background noises and focus on what they are actively listening to. I do not. At all. It is actually due to an auditory processing disorder I have. I hear all noises simultaneously and have trouble filtering out one sound for another. It makes focusing on things a challenge at times.

I hear voices in my head all the time. Angry, vengeant voices that tell me what to do.

Oh. You meant something else. Yes, there were helpful announcements about each resort and how wonderful it is. They made me angry.

Maybe it was the voices in my head that kept me from hearing it? I was hoping to give @ryan1 good news.

That sounds awful!

I mean, I guess you find ways to manage. I would think that makes even things like going to the movies very difficult.

Stay hydrated. Purchase a nice Mickey stainless steel water bottle and refill often.

You are a mother of three. You definitely have selective hearing

As long as no one is talking around me, I’m good.

Watching television at home poses a greater problem, because as soon as anyone in the room makes a comment, asks a question, etc., I can no longer discern what is being said on screen. I have to pause the show/movie.

Yes. I’ve learned tricks to manage. But in some circumstances, I can’t. For most of my life, talking on the phone to anyone unless I was in a quiet room by myself was extremely stressful and at times impossible. But recently, I found that if I use a noise-suppression headset for calls, I don’t have any issues. Mostly, though, I’ll resort to texting rather than calling as much as possible.

Being in a crowded room with lots of conversations, such as at a restaurant is particularly challenging UNLESS the din is so loud that it just kind of becomes almost like white noise…then, I’m better able to pick out the conversation with the person I’m actually conversing with!

This we have in common. I cannot stand bars and clubs for that reason.

I am still at A&C. I was given the check some time ago. My credit card is sticking out of the little folder.

And they gave me arugula I specifically said I didn’t want.

I may have to nudge down from my usual 5%.

:unamused: Greatly dislike being made to wait to give someone my money.

Failing that, @JuliaMc is about to pick me up from YC and we’re going to HS, with no plan.

Better plan, that.
