I love how quaint and cozy and picturesque POFQ is. I love that there’s a single transportation spot and that the bus leaves and goes right where you’re headed; most resorts with a single stop share with other resorts and that slows you down.
And I love that I can stroll next door to catch a Yeeha Bob show.

And of course, beignets.

French Quarter is beautiful. Very chill and sophisticated. While I think Caribbean beach is very lively and fun. Plus kids like the Skyliner.

I’m torn between CBR and FW for families with kids. Both have so much to offer for activities and provide pathways unending for those long family walks to burn off energy. The pools are both fantastic as well

I personally don’t care for the FW cabins layout but they do offer some degree of larger space for families to spread out which is nice, too - plus that kitchen.

I love the campground but very much dislike the layout in the cabins. I guess they would work better for a family of 5 or 6.
We have only visited the quiet pool- which was ok but I found it lacking compared to others.
The main pool at CBR is really cool though!

CBR has a fantastic pool and staff that was eager to engage the kids in activities so we could enjoy some down time. The ease of the skyliner really helped on our Epcot and HS days and we liked being able to roll a stroller right on them!

You don’t mention the ages of the kids. The Skyliner at CBR makes it easy for someone at EP/HS to go back to the room while the rest of their group stays at the park. That works for young children (or their adults) who need naps, or teens who want time to swim/game/sleep.

Kids and campgrounds go together.

Before I would stay in a Wilderness cabin I’d price out a camper from Meachams. Recently - maybe 6 to 8 months ago - I priced one with 2 sets of bunks in the back bedroom and another bedroom, full kitchen with a patio pkg - chairs - for less than staying in a cabin. I’d particularly try to get loop 800.
They bring the camper to Ft Wilderness and set it up.

Coronado Springs is spread out but it has better eating options. Gran Destino is newer than FQ. The light reflections on the water are pretty special if you’re walking to 3 Bridges for supper.

That said, I’ve always wanted to stay at FQ. It might be the only moderate I’ve not stayed at.

I voted CSR for adults, but really only meant it if staying in the Tower.

I can’t comment on staying at FQ or FW since they’re still on my to do list. Nor can I say anything about staying with kids.

Loved walking by the waterwheel each day at Riverside. It was also nice to pop into Yehaw Bob’s show for 15 minutes multiple days and then move on

Coronado is negativity colored by staying during a hurricane. Although the tower may be my hurricane ride out pick overall.

Carribean Beach was pretty much just a place to sleep. It was nice being so close to Riveria, but that’s more about qualities of a Deluxe than it is about CBR itself

I would 100% rent a camper if comparable over a FW cabin. They have 2 and 3 bedroom campers now. And the cost is comperable. And I really prefer the campsite location to the cabin loops.
I’ve always wanted to like the cabins but they are meh!
You can’t rent the campers through Disney. And that’s the drawback.

Nope but you can rent thru a company that Disney is ok with

I’ve stayed at all the moderates except for Fort Wilderness.
For kids, I picked CBR for the awesome pool, the playground, the 5th sleeper option and Skyliner. Also, walking distance/Skyliner to Topolino’s breakfast!
For adults, I’d choose CSR for the exceptional dining options and the beautiful Gran Destino Tower, whether staying in the tower or not. If a person was not interested in resort dining, however, a close second would be POFQ. I love the atmosphere there, the one bus stop and the beignets! And the new room makeover looks pretty.

I’ve never even stayed at a moderate. :woman_shrugging:t2:

The only Moderate I have actually stayed at is POFQ! But there is a reason we chose it. It is compact, has a great pool, easy access to DS (when the water table isn’t compromised) and beautiful theming. Plus the beignets. It’s really easy to hop on the bus and not have to worry about a resort loop (most of the time). So that’s why I voted it best for families.

Caribbean Beach is lovely but quite spread out. Even walking to the Skyliner can be far depending on where your room is. On a hot or rainy day that can feel prohibitive.

I really like the vibe of Coronado Springs, and I look forward to trying the pool with my kids someday. But again, it’s that darn bus loop.

We almost stayed at the Ft. Wilderness Cabins once but the idea of needing to rent one of the limited golf carts did us in. I’d still like to try it. At least with a car I could drive to the parks.

PO Riverside is cool but too sprawling for my liking.

100% as the only moderate room where you don’t have to go outside for amenities.

I know this is part of its reputation, but it didn’t feel this way to me when I stayed there. I’ve been trying to get distance comparisons ever since.

Wow - the votes did not go in the direction I was expecting!

I asked with ulterior motives. I have booked 3 rooms at 3 resorts right now because I simply can’t decide which resort is best. And really it’s because I hate the price tag of CBR right now, but it’s my #1 choice.

We stayed at CBR last time and loved it - beautiful, not bothered by the walking, relaxing vibes. We are a QS family, so restaurants don’t matter to me.

We know we want a moderate (pool slide and hot tub!) so it’s just a matter of I want to bite the bullet of an extra $550 (that’s a lot of Mickey pretzels!) for lodging or if I should switch. I think it’ll really depend on the Skyliner closure dates for January too (come on Disney!).

Caribbean Beach - 5th sleeper standard room $2550,

POR - 5th sleeper standard room $2320

Coronado - standard room, $2000
