What Can You Do When You Are Deeply, Madly, Truly In The Moment - A Land/Sea Trip Report

Just spared you worrying any longer:

“We’re on the Wish now, about an hour after leaving Nassau they sounded the man overboard alarm and started throwing life preservers over the port side and started turning around,” another current passenger verified.

“Two boats were launched, the smaller boat was just recovered with just the crew. The second boat, a life boat, is still in the water. Water is fairly smooth,” one guest updated just before 9 p.m. EST.

At around 9:45 p.m. EST, another passenger informed the cruising community that guests have been called to their muster stations for a headcount and likely to check if any witnesses may have useful information for the search.

“Update: they are calling a mandatory meeting at assembly stations to account for all guests on board,” the cruiser shared.

Reportedly there was a person sighted in the water - no one saw anyone go over. There were 5 ships in Nassau yesterday and it was shortly after we all left. Once it is reported someone is there (or may be) a ship is required to respond. We did. Not knowing who it was the captain sent us to muster stations for a ship census to make sure all passengers and crew were accounted for.

We were.

I didn’t see any other cruise ships that seemed to be searching, so my guess is some kind of private boat that capsized or something. Or maybe someone thought they saw something they didn’t.

we just got a notice on the app confirming the state room credit that we’re all getting. It was a large piece of debris that they think is what caused the initial sighting or initial announcement.

That would be alarming! Glad everyone is safe and accounted for.

Just to set your mind at ease… I was just chilling on my balcony and checked - I am 5ft6 and the railing hits me just above the base of my ribs.

As long as everyone is supervised and does not climb on chairs you will be fine!

And this should go without saying, but DO NOT sit them on the chairs stacked to the side for Pirate Night!! Last night there were some parents who thought that was the perfect place for their kids and by the time I got a crew member’s attention for them to speak to them, one of the girls was practically leaning on the foot of glass above the rail. And her mom looked offended when the crew member said they couldn’t sit there. Like, one jump and that kid is tumbling 13 decks to the water.

Oh, that was the steak and eggs I ordered at Cinderella’s Royal Table that never came until I finally spoke with the seating manager to find out what had happened. The food pic before that was the eggs and stuff I should have just kept because the steak and eggs - which generally had good reviews on line - was just not that great for me.

How disappointing. Glad I’m not going there. My DD32 isn’t into princesses, except Merida, so it’s not something I’m too keen on going to.

The eggs dish was actually really good. And the manager came over to apologize and she took care of my meal. I had a refund on my gift card by mid-afternoon.

It’s actually the only place to meet Merida now - which is why I did it.

:frowning: How does CT do with dietary restrictions? There’s sooo much I can’t eat that some fixe price places simply don’t have enough to feed me. It’s so a waste of money for me.

I’m gluten-free and peanut-free and they did pretty well - I just got a bum server. It probably depends on your restrictions.

Essentially low carb, no tree nuts or peanuts, and, of course, gluten free.

Yeah - probably the egg meal would be the main thing. And yeah - a super expensive plate of eggs and breakfast meats. I splurged since this was my birthday trip and I wanted to see Merida. (And yeah - that’s always a risk in case her friend is sick and there’s not a replacement available which you wouldn’t know until the day.)
