What Can You Do When You Are Deeply, Madly, Truly In The Moment - A Land/Sea Trip Report

OK, three days out!! I should probably start this thing!

It’s been a while since I was at WDW (like, the Walls were all still up in Epcot while!) and a few months longer than that since I’ve been on a Disney cruise - so it’s time to go back!!

Here’s the plan…
Wednesday -
6:30am JetBlue flight
Mears to All Star Sports - I have a Preferred Room and have requested Surf’s Up section, third floor, corner. We’ll see how they do!
2:30 - lunch at The Boathouse - this might change…I mainly want the duck sippy mug, so I may get that and grab QS somewhere else, but we’ll see
7pm until max 12:30am - Studios After Hours - the plan is to enter at 7, grab that chocolate bourbon shake, and get in line for Fantasmic. After that hit the things I want to (Tower of Terror, RnRC, MMRR, Slinky Dog) grab some diet Coke and some water, and head back to the resort when I’m tired

Thursday -
Epcot day!
I splurged on a Premier Pass for Epcot mainly so I don’t have to stress rope drop. My plan is when I get there hit Spaceship Earth and work around in a circle heading towards Guardians. Buy a couple of bottles of wine in France on my way around, and keep going until Seas. This is subject to change depending on what I feel like (and like I haven’t seen the Journey of Water thing or the Walt statue - but getting wine prior to lunch is important so I don’t have to haul it around all day/night.
I have lunch at Space220 Lounge at 2:30 and the plan is to go back to the resort after that to rest for a bit. I plan to be back for the nighttime show which I haven’t seen yet. And I have After Hours for Epcot. Stock up on more diet Coke and water, hit Guardians a few times and see what else I’m feeling.

Friday -
Animal Kingdom
I got LLMP for this day and a solo lane for Flight of Passage. I have Up Close With Rhinos at 11. This day is just to soak in the park - plan is be there open to close with my classic getting in line for Flight 5 minutes before park close.

Saturday -
Magic Kingdom
I got LLMP for this day also and a single lane pass for Tron between 7:25 and 8:25pm.
Brunch (I know the menu is breakfast but the time is brunch) at CRT at 10:00.
Definitely want to see the new nighttime parade! Going for the second show where I’ll try to get a spot near the start of the parade so I can head out after it passes.

Sunday -
Animal Kingdom
8:45am Wild Africa Trek - a first for me!
No LL pass this day as my friend Cristen is hopefully joining me (and maybe her husband as well). I say hopefully because they may have a meet up with a potential rescue dog. They recently had to put 2 of their 3 down (like a month apart) and their pug Ruby was very bonded to their pug Percy who was put down - and Ruby is not coping well when left alone with just the cats so they’re looking for a canine buddy for her. So the afternoon will be just doing things spontaneously. Dinner at Boma that evening.

Back to the resort to get mostly packed up from park unpacking.

Monday -
Up early to have the bag ready to be picked up at 7. Grab breakfast at the resort. Meet up in the lobby at my assigned time for DCL transportation pick-up and shuttle to the port!
Board the Wish!!

During the cruise I have Palo brunch and dinner planned (not the same day). It’ll be my first time on the Wish, so I’m interested to see her.

Friday take DCL bus to MCO and fly home that afternoon. Possibly getting a short meet-up with my sister at MCO - she’s flying back for her next contract where she starts on the Treasure and we should have a couple of hours of overlap where we might be able to say hi in the central area before security. Scheduled in around 5:30pm.

And then Saturday morning off to the ASPCA.

Should be a fun 10 days!!

It’s lyrics from “What Else Can I Do?” from Encanto

I’m just aiming to really live in the moment this trip - yes, I’ve got LLs for a few of the days, but still time for spontaneity - and trying some new things like WAT.

Checked bag is packed! To the degree possible I used one color packing cubes for the WDW portion and another for the Cruise portion so I know what to grab where without unpacking the whole thing. Per my scale at home it’s 42.8 pounds, so there is a little wiggle room. And worst case, my duffel bag is not full so I can pull something out at the counter if their scale says it’s too heavy.

Carry-ons are mostly packed other than last-minute stuff.

Nothing really planned today - just resting. Tomorrow I’m having lunch with our Associate Pastor for Spiritual Formation and LGBTQIA+ Development to debrief the conference I went to.

I keep toying with splurging and getting my nails done…but my guess is they’d get messed up in the parks and be icky for the cruise, so maybe plain is better.

@lizzieanne771 At least get your toes done! Always puts me in vacay mode.

And this is exactly why I fell in love with packing cubes once I gave in and tried them!

I hate other people touching my feet.

Are you willing to try gel? Gel nails last pretty well in the parks!

If it wasn’t more than twice the price, maybe. I’ll just keep them plain and not have to worry as much.

I was mainly just thinking about maybe to have something to do today. LOL.

Got my boarding pass from Mears!

Bags are all packed barring VERY last minute stuff (like my GLP-1 meds).

Uber is coming at 4am, so I’ll probably try to get to sleep around 8 so I’m not totally wiped out tomorrow!!

On Mears Connect!

It was 20 minutes from checking in to getting on the bus, but the advantage of Terminal C is you head right out as soon as you’re boarded, so I’m already on the way.

Stops at Pop, CBR, maybe something else, then Sports (and then Music).

Room not ready yet. I stored my bags (after transferring most of my backpack to my duffle so I’m not lugging a ton of stuff around.

Headed to Disney Springs. Decided to cancel Boathouse and just get something QS. And stop by the Amphibar to get the frozen Duck Duck Razz.
