Today was their first experience. I let DH sit in the front seat while I cowered behind the driver.
We arrived safe and 2/3 sound. Took me awhile to unwind.
You know, I can clearly recall the abject terror of my first drive in snow but, multi-lane highways - not a glimmer of a memory.
Do you have a planned stopping place, or are you going to keep going until all of your are zombified? Assuming that you are on the 75, once you cross I-10, there isn’t much until you hit Gainesville.

Hope you all slept well and you don’t have far to go! My car sometimes tells me to keep both hands on the wheel. Weirdly it only ever does it when I do have both hands on the wheel.

I wanted to shop for some wall decor but we were meeting our heroes at SAV and had to stay on schedule.
It’s the one thing I’m excited about for our drive to FL next month!!!
My car (a Mini Cooper Clubman) and DH’s (Subaru Crosstrek) car both have this feature. It’s only ever gone off a few times in all the years we’ve owned them, but it left us scratching our heads too wondering what it was about our behavior as drivers that came across like we should take a break.
It is funny to see you post about this overnight while I was sleeping. One of my MAs just returned from visiting family in TX and was telling me all about he first experience. She specifically mentioned the restrooms, and also shared the eclectic collection of stock the place has. She said she spent a lot of money in there!

Put me behind the wheel of a car for more than 8 hours a day though and I’ll be very sleepy.
My kids always liked that part where you drive into Georgia and then back into Tennessee. I think the time changes back and forth too which cracked them up. We did the drive from northern IL to WDW several times. I do not miss those days! When Matty was a baby, we stopped for two nights on the road but most years we only stopped once. We’d stop just south of Atlanta. That first day was brutal!!
All of the gas prices are cheaper than the $4.65 I paid this week. Abby paid over $5.00 in Illinois this week. I think we all need magic cars!

I’m sad too! We do seem to have a habit of scheduling trips that just don’t quite overlap.
I think we have about four hours today so not bad at all.
