When driving from PA to Ohio south of Pittsburgh (Rte 70), you first have to drive through West Virginia!
There is a little tiny bit of WV that bumps up between OH and PA.

We are NOT driving straight through. We would get to Disney at 4 am and I don’t know what we would do. We will stop at some point.

So the highlight of the trip has been Buc-ee’s. I have to admit that we had never been to one. The kids are now obsessed.

We actually had dinner there. The brisket was good. The bathrooms there really are the nicest. These are American bathrooms that even @sanstitre_has_left_the_building would approve of (proper walls and doors and vacant/occupied locks).

Bucees is a favorite stop for the drum corps community. Dd20 has a number of clothing items from there… including this one.

I know right where that is. When we had elderly relatives in Florida, pre-internet, we’d have to drive to FL to get social security, etc, stuff done in person. Back then we’d do St Louis, Nashville, Atlanta and on to Orlando.
When Atlanta got to be too much to put up with I started looking for alternate routes. About 20 yrs ago I found the straight south thru MO to Memphis, Birmingham, and on to Orlando route, tho I’m still working on a decent way between Birmingham and Gainesville/Ocala/Wildwood.
That meme about midwesterners saying if it’s only a 14 hr drive why fly is mostly true. Figure in a 2 hr drive to an airport, 2 hour early arrival, and you’re already a third of the way thru your trip before you’ve gotten on the plane.
And you don’t have to buy airport Dr Pepper.
