Possible workaround for the security checks if you’re in the room:
Use the deadbolt. I checked and my MB+ couldn’t open the door with it on. I read on reddit that HK’s passkeys can’t open deadbolted doors either. Only security can.
Don’t rely on the “Room Occupied” sign. It won’t stop HK barging in.
As you said…you paid for the room until 11 am. If I am done with the room before then, I will let you know
And if housekeeping enters a room THINKING you are done for the day, and they see any personal effects whatsoever, they should back out and note to the system they are not checked out.
I agree that leaving a band will not help. At BWV my son stayed in the room and I just took a walk outside of HS and EP (never entered) and they checked us out (twice). I know there are GPS issues in that area. Lyft has tried to pick us up at HS in the past instead of BWV. I had to message the driver. They said it happens all the time.
Think this was tested and no. I think a CM said scanning into a park can trigger it. I would definitely put the do not disturb or Disney’s equivalent on the door. Maybe Mousekeeping will skip entering the room. There is no guarantee.
I think @DWJoe (and it may have been another liner) may have even specifically asked not to be checked out early and it happened anyway.
This makes me realize I am going to have to take a lot of precautions on my July trip. I have one night at VGF followed by two at YC.
I am going to attend EEH at MK but then rope drop it again in the morning for about 90 mins. I have no intention of packing and checking out before I do that. The goal was to come back, put together a swim bag, take my bags to the car and head to the pool. Similarly on final check out day I want to RD EP, come back to the room to gather stuff and either hang out at the pool or HS.
In both cases, especially because I have such short stays, being checked out early will not be okay.
I think some of the difficulty is that when a guest contacts Housekeeping about something, it’s central Housekeeping rather than your resort Housekeeping.
The only way you can know you’re speaking with the front desk at your hotel is to be standing there, at your hotel.
It was either May '24 or possibly Dec '23 that I realized the only telephone call to reach someone at the resort I was staying at was Bell Services.
That may have changed by now.
At CCV last month I could call and report we had no hot water in the room but I could not call mousekeeping at all. Every attempt to call resulted in a fast busy signal. I know that means the call is not going through. I had to contact mousekeeping through the Hey Disney. I was not happy.
