Little while back there was a petition to make the houses more mobility device friendly- it didn’t get anywhere because the houses and queues are technically ADA compliant…But yeah it might sound silly but I make my 6’3 270 sons walk in front of me like my own offensive lineman.

Just seeing this… booooo that you’re not going. I was this close to rebooking my flight for a day earlier so I could hang with you too (we’re not working Fridays for the near future, so I could take Thursday off now, and fly on Wednesdayafter work)
But if you go in December will you do one of the Informer weekends? We’re doing the 6th or the 7th (just one night).

No… I’ve done a couple of OIM weekends. I had a blast, but I don’t think they’re worth the money. My AP renewal is only about $150 more than the cost of a OIM Fri & Saturday. I’d rather put my money towards a renewal.
Right now, I’m planning on going to MVMCP on 12/5 (for my 50th birthday and EPCOT on 12/6 to do my first GotG ride!)

Dang I hate to hear that but I get it. Even if you could have scootered its tough with special crowds and even to a smaller extent parades.
Im glad a scooter was available but definitely want to avoid it if possible too!

Yeah… I have mentioned in older threads that I was intending to skip the HNN next year. Now, I’ll go in 2025 when Epic is open! I’m still so upset about it, but trying to be positive.
I can’t wait to see the TR from Liners that do go to HHN this year! I can go vicariously through my friends!

The Weeknd house is what finally pushed me over the edge to go out west! I’m also excited for their Dead Exposure house… I loved the 2018 one, and the original franchises are always so good! It will be interesting to compare the Blumhouse scare zone in FL to the Terror Tram, especially since I’ve never really cared for any of the Blumhouse houses that much, even when I like the movie.
We switched to working 4 10s instead of 5 days (well, the shop switched to 10s, I’ve been doing them, but 5 days for the last 5 months) this week, so having the Friday off really helped make a CA trip make more sense and I’ve got a concert with friends that weekend too, so the pieces really just fell together. I decided to take Thursday off and do DL/DCA too.

I loved the Weeknd House in Orlando! Dead Exposure sounds like one of my favorite themes. Plus, you get Leatherface!

Our passes expire the end of the year. Not sure what is on the horizon for us. Probably skipping EU next year so not renewing. It will be interesting to see what they do with passholders.

I got a survey today from UOR about whether or not I’ll be renewing. I told them they need to publish something about how AP will gain entry to Epic before I renew.
(I’m going to renew, but I want to put pressure on them to do something!

I’ve got good news!
I’ve been taking care of my injury and have noticed a significant improvement over the last 3 - 4 days.
I don’t think it’s enough improvement to say my HHN trip can happen though.
(I still haven’t cancelled my hotel or moved my flights. I haven’t gone through all the stages of grief yet! I’m still in the “bargaining” / “depression” stages! 
)
DW is worried that even if it starts to get close to 100% going back to “full speed” in about two weeks would not be a good idea. Sadly, in my mind, I know she’s correct. (In my heart I keep hoping for a miracle that’s not going to happen)
I’m using the PTO I had planned for HHN to do a Grinchmas / 50th Birthday trip for the first week of December. I’ve been talking to a few Liners who are going at the same time. I have planned a quick Tues. - Sat. trip with a MVMCP on Thursday and a full day at WDW on Friday.
I’m still a “Universal Addict”, but I had such a wonderful time meeting Liners last year that I want to do it again. (Which means being at WDW more)
I admit I do like the WDW parties & I NEED to see if GotG is as great as everyone says!
I’m a little unhappy that I only get about 1 – 1.5 days at UOR though on this trip!
EDIT - I’ve already been enabled by Liners & DW is cool with a longer trip! I’ve updated the next paragraphs!
So, I’ve decided to arrive on Friday 11/30/24. Going to Jollywood Nights on Monday 12/2/24. I really loved this party last year. I’m thrilled it’s getting extended for an extra hour. That was my biggest complaint last year.
Changing the arrival date means I get at least 4 full days at UOR, plus some “half days”.
I’m not going to buy any WDW tickets until after Labor Day. That will give my leg another 2 weeks to heal. This will give me the confidence to buy those tickets which are non-refundable.
(I’m not going to gamble again with asking for refunds on tickets!)
I truly am in the “bargaining” stage of my grief for sure!!

OK…
I’ve already found rates that make going Friday 11/30/24… “acceptable”. However, I’ll have to upgrade my AP to the next level ($50 more) because of a blackout dates on that Friday & Saturday for my current AP.
It will mean that when I go in February that I won’t have to worry about blackouts on concert nights like I do now though… That would be nice. I’ve been caught off-guard by that in the past
Would I be crazy to go Thanksgiving weekend?? I’ve always sworn I would never go on a busy holiday weekend…
I wouldn’t be using any extra PTO, which is a big bonus as we’re closed that Friday! The extra nights are still at my current rate so it’s $435 for the extra 3 nights…
Thoughts?? I can be enabled or dissuaded at this moment. I really want more UOR time, but if the parks are insane would I have fun??
I feel like this would give me all my URO time, but maybe I’m overcompensating for missing HHN.

Don’t worry about Thanksgiving, you know better than anyone how to dodge the heaviest of crowds.
I know you’re used to a ride marathon, but take some extra time to go slow, enjoy the atmosphere!
