Universally Addicted to Frights - CANCELLED

Yeah… I really want time to see the parade, lagoon show, Hogwarts Always (or Christmas show), DreamWorks & such…

By arriving on Black Friday I don’t have to try to cram all that in only 2 days + my favorite rides…

EDIT - Talked to DW & now I’m booked for Black Friday! Yea!!

Glad you’re back in the planning stage of grief!

I think you made the right call by arriving Friday. From what I recall (and consistent with the crowd levels you posted), crowds evaporate pretty quickly after Thanksgiving for some reason (which is the opposite of what I’d expect – I would think they’d arrive Wednesday and stay through the weekend :man_shrugging:).

It was only $438 to add Friday - Monday to my Aventura Reservation and $0 to move the flight.

That’s why I was so excited when I started looking this morning!

The prices for flights are high on every date that Thanksgiving week, except Black Friday

OIM?

Honestly I voted for the 9 with OIM - no idea what that is but here is my thinking- longer is always better especially after an injury-while it maybe healed - regaining strength and stamina, at least for me is whole different issue. 9 means option to take it a a slower pace if needed.

I see in the December Liner thread that you’ll be there on the same dates! Let me know if you have time to meet. I promise to try harder to not spill anything this time!!

LOL! I will be there with DW on a romantic weekend. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: If you are planning to be at WDW either Friday 12/6 or Saturday 12/7 I should be able to run into you.

Orlando Informer Meet-up. It’s a private party, like MVMCP. Limited crowds, both parks open & UNLIMTED food & drinks at every venue.

I’ve done it before and it soo fun. However, it’s like $250 per night! If you go both Friday & Saturday you get a discount. However, my AP only costs like $150 more for the year. It’s hard to justify paying as much for a weekend as I can for an AP.

This is true. However, I have little self control and will go full speed whenever I’m in Orlando.

I’m almost 100% positive I’ll be at EPCOT on Friday 12/6…

I may do a park hopper, now that you can do it at anytime, and start at AK. That way I’ll have visited all 4 parks that week

I’m thrilled that you were able to extend your December trip! That will be here before you know it!!! and the crowds are no big thing for a seasoned vet like you! Plenty to take in if you have to skip a ride or two!

I finally broke down and cancelled the hotel & all the flights for DD22 & I this morning. I guess that means I’ve finally hit the acceptance stage of this trip not happening.

It really sucks. I’m starting to try and focus all my attention on December.

I realized that if I do Jollywood, MVMCP and a one-day park hopper on that trip I can hit up all four park + UOR. That’s exciting!

Although, I am planning on doing MVMCP and then doing a RD the next day at WDW!!  :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I invited DD22, but she doesn’t want to go on Thanksgiving weekend. She, also, can’t stay up / awake to the end of any WDW parties. I’d love to have her there, but those are too pricey to have to leave by 10pm…

I think I’ll see if she wants to go in February when the crowds are lower & the weather is cooler!

So… I guess this is the end of this “Trip Report”  :shark: :shark:

You can start the new one now!

Yeah… I’ve been bouncing around titles in my head.

I like that I’ve trademarked my TRs as “Universal Addict” or a variation of that.

I’m trying to think of something not too long, but tells everyone that this is a combo UOR/WDW/Birthday TR that starts off during a crazy busy Thanksgiving weekend!

I like it! I might use that as a starting point. My 50th birthday is a big part of it…

What do you think of this??

Universal Addict Gives Thanks to the World for a Merry 50 Years - UOR/WDW

I tried to include Jollywood, but it’s just too long!

I think the -OUR/WDW is a tad superfluous. If you wanted to include a reference to Jollywood, you could do A Jolly Universal Addict …

I know there’s a large portion of people that won’t read it if they think it’s only a UOR trip report.

However, I’d rather have the “Jolly” in the title…

I think we’ve done it!

My phone just reminded me that my flight is scheduled to leave in about an hour from now. :sob: :sob:

My leg has gotten much better. However, I can’t do long treks yet. I’m glad I cancelled rather than try to push myself. I’ve still got about 80 more days to get 100% better!!

Oh! DD23 has decided to tag along on my February trip. It’s a short one, but that works out as she can’t go for a long time

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I find it’s safer to post in existing threads than be seen by a wider audience by posting a new one. And what I have to say is vaguely relevant.

I’m going to Orlando in December for eight nights. Partly because of cost and partly out of principle, I’m staying wholly at UOR, despite planing four WDW days.

I had originally booked a Skyline room at Aventura for $1,215 all-in on an AP rate.

But I constantly check the website to look for deals and discounts and I have switched to Endless Summer — Surfside, as I spotted an amazing all-in AP rate of $740 for the eight nights. That’s an average of about $80 per night plus tax.

I couldn’t say “no”, right? I lose the view and the option of walking or boating to the parks, but that’s a $475 saving. There’s all kinds of fun I could have with that.

Paul (who’s coming with me) doesn’t care about hotels at all, so he’s fine with it. And I’ve never stayed at Endless Summer, so I can add that to my key card collection.
