The bad news first…
I have to cancel HHN. It’s a real bummer to be polite about it. I’m really hoping UOR will give a refund or credit. Based on past UOR non-refundable stuff, I am out of luck…
I’m so sad to miss this special time with my daughter. I’m dredging having to call her to let her know.
As much as I hate missing HHN with my daughter I can’t risk a lingering injury.
Good news…
I am progressing. We were able release a massive amount of pressure/pain during the visit. I was told I should feel significantly better in 2 weeks if I take it easy and mix in the mild strengthening exercises provided.
I was told to expect another six weeks of recovery before I could walk significant distances. (Like 2 miles or so without a break or pain) Then it would still need to be monitored for another month.
So…I do have a strain that’s going to be in the 2+ months of recovery rather than 2 - 3 weeks
I’m grateful to everyone for allowing me to share this with you. I’m so upset. Being able to talk about it with y’all really helps.

I am so sorry to hear this! I hope Universal will refund you! No second thoughts on a scooter? Did you have express pass?

I’ve seen people on scooters at HHN and it looks terrible. It’s so hard to navigate, plus you can’t get into the houses on one.
Plus, I have been advised that I shouldn’t expect to be able to walk even a mile or so without issue by then. 
Yeah…I bought my tickets with Express early because they were selling out.

I am wondering if a scooter to each house with the short express pass walks could be manageable? If you can’t get a refund?
Is it 4 weeks from now?
I will add, I am 63 so I am limited by age and get it. I wil sit here and scream for you if it is all off.

Oh no. I hate hearing this. I mean I’m glad you’re progressing but it totally sucks that you have to cancel. 
Would UOR possibly bend the nonrefundable rule if you offered to provide a doctor note?

It is right at one month away. My diagnosis wasn’t optimistic that I will not be able to handle the standing as much as HHN requires.
If I have to choose between not going or trying to push recovery even with a scooter I would rather play it safe.
I’m going to try every option. Refund, a credit to use for AP renewal, a future trip or something… maybe even transferring ticket to a friend of my daughter… I am not above pleading and begging!

I am SO glad to hear the good news. It must be a real relief to have an end of sorts in sight and some sort of diagnosis–it’s not forever!
I hope you’re successful with getting a credit/refund of sorts. I really hope they will work with you. It’s a bummer, though, I know. I think most on here understand the disappointment you must be feeling!!

@darkmite2 I’m just gutted for you! I know these trips are such a mental health salve for you.
It sounds like you are making the right decision for your healing journey though. You have many more Universal trips ahead of you so might as well heal the right way so you don’t have to miss any more trips!
That said, I’m gonna go cry in the corner for a little while because I don’t know what I’m gonna do without a Larry HHN trip report.
I really hope Uni works with you on a refund of some kind!
