I find Universal’s Photo Pass to be a bit more of a hassle than Disney. (Even though I don’t love the automated photo boxes where photographers used to be at WDW!)
However, I came across these maps today of all the current photo pass automated and photographer locations. It even includes Volcano Bay…

I have a question about activation. Can we go straight to rides and activate photo pass after any ride or do we have to first go to a photo location? Is there a way no to waste time and to go straight to rides but have the guarantee that photos can be taken right away? Thank you!

You can use the temporary photo cards at the rides to load your pictures, and then add them to an account. You have to do it by the end of the day or the photos get deleted.

I highly recommend adding the photopass card to your account the first time you stop to eat.
Don’t be like me that lost our first Hagrid’s photos because I was so pooped after the first day that I forgot.
Also, you can have multiple cards on your account at a time. So, everyone can have their own and if you lose one just get another card and add it.
And… you can share with anyone! I’ve had other Liners graciously allow be to be on their pass when I am at UOR at the same time. I love my Liner buddies!
