JUST RUMORS/SPECULATION

RRR may be a F&F Drifting Coaster

Current F&F could be an indoor BTTF attraction

That would be an interesting change. Is there any meat to this rumor? That is…some hints that suggest there is any validity to it?

As far as the coaster is concerned…I honestly don’t care too much about the theme…Intamin just generally makes great coasters, so I’m sure I’ll love it no matter the theme.

ETA: One thing about the coaster that I HOPE ends up being the case is that they avoid inversions. I, personally, don’t mind inversions…but I think the addition of inversions reduces accessibility in terms of riders…plenty of younger riders (and older ones as well) will avoid rides that ā€œgo upside downā€. RRR avoided an inversion nicely with the twisty loop thing.

Wait did it not have any? I thought it did. If so it was pretty wild for a roller coaster with inversions.

I love how Hagrid’s doesn’t have inversions. I like them on Velocicoaster though.

Nope. There is the one ā€œnon-inverting loopā€ on the ride, but you don’t actually invert, because as you go ā€œupā€ the loop, it twists so that you are on TOP of the loop, rather than upside-down. A really cool ride element that I don’t recall experiencing on any other coaster.

Agreed on both accounts. Hagrid’s a amazingly fun for a ride that is accessible to (almost) the entire family. Velocicoaster is great for the thrill-seekers…and I wouldn’t be surprised if there end up being inversions on the new coaster…just a bit of a wish list that they stick to a thrilling coaster without inversions.

Universal hotels are the strangest thing. I’ve been watching them for a couple of weeks. Hard Rock has come down a ton, and it’s at present the least expensive of the three original signatures. It’s usually the most expensive.

Is 30% off (passholder rate) generally as cheap as it gets?

For my September weekend, I believe it was around 40%. I booked in December and I have three adults (extra cost). Currently rack rate shows as $741 for Portofino with the discounted rate of $532.50. That is more than a CL booking in December. It was also more than $100 more than the discount in December.

I booked SF and I still check almost daily to see if I can beat my initial rate.

That’s good to know.

One of my other Universal bookings–$200 more per night than when I booked last week! The movement of these things is interesting to follow.

It is so easy to cancel and rebook that I usually grab something early and then just check back often. I grabbed an April 2026 room the other day. Some times prices will drop last minute .

Just as a data point, I booked Royal Pacific for May 2026 and the AP rate was $447 / night for the cheapest night. Hard Rock and Portofino were both significantly over $500 / night. In the past I have usually been able to get an AP rate in the $3xx range for the same time of year.

Inflation sucks.

Sure does!

It’s just crazy watching this price movement. Disney of course doesn’t usually move until closer to time when they start offering discounts.

Has anyone ever used a Universal gift card for mobile ordering?

Google is confused. Same search, minutes apart…

I wouldn’t trust that. I had this result last week:

Wow.

I guess Gemini isn’t great. I’m gonna look into Grok, I hear it’s really improving.

You can’t use a UOR gift card for mobile order. I know because of my Universal Rewards gift cards & etc…

You can make hotel payments and ticket purchases though!!

Do you know if you can use two sources of payment in person for a purchase? I have a couple of APs to renew. I am still thinking about only doing one (because of the lack of Epic access) but I do have a visa gift card. Do you know if I couple pay cash and that card?

Yes you can! I’ve done it when my gift cards didn’t have enough to cover.

Thank you! Now just to decide if I will do two APs or just the one.
