Universal Orlando News & Planning Thread

I’m assuming your special area and his special area are different in structure.

You may be saddened to learn (as I was) that Toadette is not one of the powerup bands you can get. I still don’t own one because I was so massively disappointed.

I wanted a Donkey Kong or DK one! I couldn’t believe it wasn’t an option??? I’m holding off on buying one! Maybe a DK band will be at Epic because oif the ride… :man_shrugging:

They do have DK and DD bands at Epic!

Wonderful!! I though I saw that somewhere! When I was at USH for Fan Fest they only offered the basic / “original” ones.

I’m going to get a Mario one. It looks the best (IMHO) and my first initial is M, so I can wear it in my everyday life and it will make total sense and not look weird at all.

After almost one full year, the Epic Universe Preview Center is now closed!

I know we can all go visit Epic now, but I really wanted to see that model!

I wish they’d use the space to show what’s going on at USH in 2026! New coaster, hotels, remodeled CityWalk and etc…!

@Jeff_AZ : I believe you have (or in the past have) had an AP for Universal when others in your party do not. I imagine you book parts of your trip separately (lodging, etc.) rather than with a package. Is that the best way?

FYI - I’ve booked at room at Aventura for HHN using the AP rate. I do not have an AP and do not plan to get one while there.

The Loews hotel system and the UOR systems don’t communicate with each other for checking in & out.

Hope that helps!

You should be in jail.

I’ve never been asked if I have an AP at check-in when I’ve booked that rate.

Wait, for besting the system or for not having an AP?

Yes

Yes, I always book everything separately. Much more flexibility for getting ticket deals and hotel deals. Often I get tickets from third party sites that have significant discounts over direct tickets.

Good idea. I also may change my mind on hotels but am good with some current rates so may go ahead since I like having things booked

How soon before your trip do you purchase tickets normally?

Maybe 3 months before, unless there are rumblings about an imminent price increase. Undercover Tourist allows refunds up to a year from purchase, so that is the earliest I would ever buy them.
