A better ideaâŚWe could just give more people jobs and fully staff theme parks so that these issues donât happen as often.

When I worked in Ops we had people walking the queue. They would monitor guests as well as look for people that might not be eligible to ride. (or expedite solo guests to the front)
We had more security and park services (custodial)
Itâs cheaper and easier to do automationâŚ

okâŚold man rant over now!! Now, get off my lawn!
Those line jumpers chap my hide. Iâd be fine with both people and automation. It would also give the people some cover if they can say âit isnât me that labeled you a line-jumper.â I tend to stand on the opposite side of line width-wise from my family so that they couldnât slip past us. Occasionally Iâd put a hand on both rails.
People are genuinely shocked when I donât let them past me âTo join their friends.â And totally flummoxed when I suggest that their friends move back in the line to join them.
I do this too! It really bothers me when people do it in Single Rider queues as well!!
Iâve grabbed a TM at Hagridâs once after four people cut by me in SR to join their friends. That defeats the purpose of SR!! ![]()
They pulled me and about four other people who got bypassed out of that queue and took us right to the front of the queue! I was so grateful!
My pet peeve is that they inevitably look like the scorned party after any kind of interaction.
I called out a group of about ten people who joined one person in line in front of us.
Of course they were ever so gracious (
) as to let us go ahead of them.
Well of course they would be, they probably just skipped past about 40 minutes of line ![]()

It annoys the heck out of me, but I also know that I will enjoy my day better if I just stay quiet.
Itâs very difficult to stay quiet in the moment though ![]()
YeahâŚthis is my typical reaction too!
Otherwise, youâre stuck giving each other mean looks when I should be focusing on the fun!
I understand it totally. My friends and I joked about it saying there were 3 kind of entries. Normal entry, Express pass (or LL for DW) and the excuse me pass. Every single ride there would be someone asking to move forward to meet who knows whom.
I was somehow stupid, and had to really go to the toilet on our last day in DW and when I was back my friends had move a lot in the HM queue so I was ashamed and didnât ride it to avoid asking people to let me walk through.
âSorry those people cut you in line, but weâve got a good solution for you: You can cut in front of others.â ![]()
Universal seems to have come out of Milton mostly unscathed. However, one side of the covered entrance / taps to VB got ripped to shreds. Theyâve completely removed it this morning.
I got shouted at by the family I called out. Exact same - one runner, entire extended family behind. Apparently I wasnât sensitive to the fact that they had children who wanted to ride. Umm, like mine didnât and were just standing there for kicks? There were no other children theyâd just pushed past?
I donât understand really why Universal is so much worse for queue jumpers (or maybe it just stresses me more there) but it borderline makes me not want to go. I would be so happy if that patent was implemented!!
Was it mentioned that at HHN they gave everyone a paper âticketâ when they entered the standby queue? (The same type of tickets you would use for a school raffle). They are numbered so if there were issues, they could look at the sequence of numbers to determine if someone was jumping the line.
That so simple and absolutely genius ![]()
It really is.
Same experience on my only SR Hagrids. I felt pretty good they stiffed the âhacksâ!
Not sure if itâs been discussed here lately, but I expect Universal to open up the Special Holiday Event (Tour/Breakfast) Tickets this Thursday. Maybe 7am?
That date aligns with last year. Of course, keep your eye out in case itâs a different day. But I know the last two years (at least) tickets were released on Thursdays.
I have read the 15th a few places (tomorrow) but I will be checking obsessively everyday until they are released.

The scheduled maintenance in early November for The Hogwarts Express has been moved from to January 28, 2025, until February 1, 2025.
