Universal Addict is Back For More (wrap-up)

Another great night of sleep at my new home…:rofl:

I had a bit of longing for my family home today. I may be addicted to UOR, but I am addicted to my family more!!

I checked flights and a free change would’ve meant a 5 - 6 hour layover in ATL. I’d rather just stay.

I packed up and rolled my bags over to CBBR. There is a walking path all the way there. It’s a little bit of a serpentine route. There was no traffic at the street light so I crossed there.

It was right at 8:45am and Volcano Bay opened at 9am for EPA. Got my bags stowed at Luggage Services and strolled into Volcano Bay.

All my home sick feelings melted away as soon as I found my favorite shaded chair. I choose a more laid back morning than rushing to Krakatu.

Been doing my favorites while I wait for my room to be ready. (I just got the text now that it is at 11:45am)

Popped into Dancing Dragons Boat Bar for “breakfast” and one more drink to go!:rofl::innocent:

I’m staying until I want to go. I have my Mama Della’s “redo” at 5pm. After that I am going to do souvenir shopping so that my departure tomorrow is just Hagrid’s & VC at EPA with no rushing.

I’m plan on doing Stranger Things & Last of Us tonight once more tonight and Nightmare Fuel…I don’t know how late I will stay.

Please ask anything before i go. I will find out the answer!

I really dislike this. But maybe if they did two separate queues the bike would always be long. But then anyone who doesn’t have a preference or is short on time could ride easier with the shorter queue.

If you like iodine, medicine, smoke and peat it sure is! LOL There are some other whiskey’s in there including my favorite which is the Irish Redbreast. I describe it as Christmas/New Year’s in my mouth (the cask strength). I need my whiskey triple distilled I guess! LOL

*Also it’s a lock cabinet cuz we have a 16yo in case you were wondering  And we were both 16 once so we know.

DH and I were just talking about this this morning. We are taking the train up on the 1st. Our “home” is at minimum 20 minutes with no traffic away from Uni.

We also have tickets for the Universal OI event that night. So we were trying to decide what to do with our luggage after we get off the train. Do we slug from MCO to basically Davenport, or is there some sort of luggage storage at Universal we could utilize that first night even though we aren’t staying on property?

It was a suite so they probably did not have another and it was a short trip after SWGS and BWI for some Disney time and I got Covid that night (well at least the symptoms) so I wasn’t in the place to deal with it. It wasn’t the uncleanliness that got me sick for sure because my phone told me I was exposed two days a row in SWGS; it just took a few days for me to start to feel bad and it wasn’t until the plane ride home with the congestion kicked I suspected it wasn’t just heat exhaustion.

I have a 15 year old so I should be locking it up…but you’re obviously smarter than I am

Also, funny story, DS’s first taste of whiskey might have been at Universal a couple of years ago. In the hopes that he’d hate the taste of “all” alcohol and never try it again.

I agree with you on all the icky tastes of scotch, which is why we usually stick with Macallan. And I usually don’t mind the peatiness (sp) if I’m pairing it with a good cigar. Otherwise it’s like licking an ashtray.

Yup, lock it up! Just sayin. We always have one bottle of vodka in there and I noticed it was low one day when it wasn’t locked. She wasn’t smart enough like me where I’d pour water in there.

With my parents they just had tequila for margaritas. They weren’t big drinkers. But I can imagine them slowly over time thinking how weak the margaritas were getting.

Sharing here @darkmite2 ,I heard that Hagrid’s SR is not always a good idea. Here’s an example:

Interesting for me it’s always worked (25 min or so waits if memory serves me right when it was posted 120) I wonder if the secret got out.

I believe Larry’s is at the left near the entrance, in the far back of Wave Village. But here is the info on the shade structures:

Thank you!!!

Yes it usually isn’t bad, but with any attraction with only 2 seats across, there is a risk. The general advice is that attractions with more than 2 seats in a row is always a shorter wait in SR, with basically no risk.

Good to know! Thanks!

Yes! Those circled in red at tbe bottom are my favorite. Easy to find, get shade all day. The only “downside” is there are speakers in the area. I sit ibthe spots closer to the gift shop/ lockers where the speakers are about 10 chairs away.

Far enough to enjoy the music and still nap!

Yea…Hagrid’s is such a gamble at single rider. Last night I saved 30 minutes. Other times I have waited 30 minutes longer than standby.

I always have that sinking feeling that I have made a mistake when I get in Hagrid’s SR. However, sitting on the stairs in the SR queue makes the wait better on a long day!!

Rode everything at VB multiple times, except Krakatu. (I did it once mid-day)

It has a 220 minute wait now.

It was a another great day at Volcano Bay.

(I did get that second cocktail! I can now say I’ve had every drink on the menu again. They are all good! )

I stayed at VB a little longer than expected…it’s that much fun and relaxing. Plus, DW could tell I was homesick a bit.

She laughed, told me to have fun and reminded me how hard I work.

There’s no good way to get from CBBR to Portifino for my Mama Della’s “redo” dinner. I don’t want to arrive all sweaty and disheveled again so I am paying the $10 for an Uber.
