Haven’t been on other ones, but the tour was given by the ride supervisor. Who, besides being informative and nice, gave my 9 year old boys a shout out on the speaker when we got front of the line for the ride. Also, we got to see where the scare actors used to set-up scare people in the queue.

Besides the items I mentioned to @bebe80, they also talk about mechanics of the ride vehicles and the backstories behind the 4 different drivers. There are also a lot of references to the Peter Jackson Kong movie through out the ride and queue that our tour guide pointed out.
If I was in UOR for over a week, I would definitely try and hit up all the tours and do a review/rating for each one for my Liner friends.

Oh it is! (It’s a hoodie, I can roll up sleeves up thankfully!
I wear my wizarding robe at the park a lot. I can deal with it. The real fun will be, even though I am slathered in deodorant, how bad will stink at 10pm
The t-shirt underneath will be a sopping wet rag when I get back at 1am! 
(Happens to my WWOHP dress shirt each time!)

Ask at the attraction entrance if a TM is available for a tour. Tours are not always available, more likely on less busy weekdays mid morning/early afternoons. It will depend on staffing.
