We have been on in many times, and NO ONE in our group has ever gotten on the ride without being completely drenched. I’m surprised you have managed it!

For our party last week we arrived at 3:45pm. There was a huge line in the sun but at 4pm it started moving really quickly and I was in around 4:05pm. Unless you need to meet jack and sally, I would say 3pm should be totally fine

I just remember how hot it was when I waited in line for MNSSHP. I thought i was going to melt in that line…it was the hottest I had ever been. I wish I would’ve waited until later to go in just to avoid that crowd (whatever year it was I went).

Yeah… that’s my worry too. I know how unshaded the entey is!
So definitely bring the bag with the water bottle…and make sure it is filled to the brim with icy cold water, just for that wait!

We actually used our umbrella for the sun in that line… it might look funny but it really helped!

Call it a parasol, then! (Which literally translates to “for sun”.) You don’t look funny using a parasol in the sun!

For the party, you can get a Boarding Group at 6pm I believe. Use BG1.

I was always perfectly content with any (safe) water that came out of a tap until I met DH. The man has been drinking bottled water of some kind most of all his life. And now that we’ve been together 17 years, married 14, I have opinions on all the different kinds of bottled waters and how they taste and can only do tap water if it’s got to freezing (or an ice water) which masks the taste some. The water out of the bottle refill stations at WDW definitely doesn’t meet that criteria. 
So all this to say, I get being spoiled by the taste of water you are used to.

Dudley was already at a posted 45 minutes and TP said it was an actual 60 minutes. I really like it, but that queue is the worst in all of UOR . I won’t do more than a posted 20 (max)
If I had gone there instead of JPRA I would’ve made it a couple times.
Popeye was great! All water effects working and statuary was animated in places I didn’t know moved.
The negative was that they had the EXTENDED queue open. I have never walked that route. It had plenty of decor, statuary (some talked), wheels to spin, ropes to pull and stuff to occupy you in a long wait. But OMG it was one if the longest hikes to get to ride on property! 
I walked on for my ride and hoped for a reride. However, there was a short queue built up when we returned to the dock and I had to exit. I really didn’t want to makr that walk again - even for a short queue.
It’s earlier than I planned to leave, but I am so wet that there is really not much else I can do!
OK…I am at the water taxi dock. This is the SF queue entry. It is the same I used BOTH times last night. However, if you look at the roped off switchbacks you’ll see that RPR and SF share an entry point as you get to the load gates.
I know I was in the right queue! It must have been loading for RPR and the Captain assumed I wanted that.

I’ve always wondered why they have SUCH a long queue open when the ride has always been (when we’ve been there) a walk-on. Takes you 15 minutes of walking (it feels like…not really)!
