My husband gets queazy on a lot of the rides, including GoTG. Recently, my son has also been experiencing some motion sickness on rides. On our last trip, even the skyliner and ToT bothered him. We all took the meclizine (for us, Bonine) preventatively for our DHS and Epcot days and no one had troubles at all. In fact, my son forgot to take it before DHS. We stopped at First Aid and they gave it to him. It took all of 30 seconds and they were great. We were thrilled to be able to quickly solve that problem, and he had no issues that day. We didn’t bother for MK because those types of rides don’t really bother us, and no one got sick. In short, the meds are very effective!
@WDWBubbleFan can’t wait to hear about your solo trip!!! Have the BEST time.
Thank you!!! ![]()
@WDWBubbleFan how was YOUR solo trip? Would love to hear all about it!
OMG I’m so sorry I missed following this LIVE! Heading over in 19 days for my solo trip while I stick DD in camp! Can I plug in my trip reports here?
So excited for you!!! It’s been three weeks since my solo trip and I still feel recharged.
You can put your trip report here or start a new thread, up to you!
ALSO planning 3 perfect solo days at WDW June 22-25, 2026 (with an annual pass). As long as you don’t mind I’ll try to post updates here so folks can find them in future.
The plan:
- MON Arrival Day, fly into MCO, Mears to WDW, check in POR, HS for dinner and Fantasmic!
- TUE AK morning: Wild Africa Trek, late lunch at Tiffins, bus to Epcot, Geo-82 dinner and Luminous fireworks
- WED Boat to DS, Boathouse brunch, bus to monorail resort, MK dessert pre-party and HEA fireworks
- THU Departure day: Sleep late and swim, -OR- quick trip to GF for breakfast and MK stop then off to Mears and MCO
I’m likely to do very few rides to avoid the lines, concentrating instead on tour, shows, fireworks, since I’m going back in July and Sept with DD. Follow along here if you like!

I am so happy you had this experience! That is exactly how I felt the first time I rode it. Other times have not hit the same way - it is either scratched glasses, which level I’m in or where I’m seated in the theatre, I have no idea what makes it just a nodge off to be cool but not this.
Last summer I rode it again with my sisters and everything must have lined up because it was so exhilarating I cried. I think people undersell it! Maybe because it isn’t new anymore?
This sounds so cool. Like you, I loves the ballroom scene as a kid, and really the HM overall. I have ridden pirates once by myself, now HM is on my list for end of after hours!
Thanks for sharing the link to your report in the other thread!
I still absolutely love the ballroom scene! It’s so well designed and feels real to me… I want to crash a solo trip like this one and live our best lives with the
!
Also flight of passage is MY FAVORITE. It does invoke an emotional response in me and is really special. I’ve maybe been on it 3 or so times now and not every time was quite as great. I think like heather said it might have been the theater or scratched glasses or something. But I do love it!
@heathernoel I remember hearing about Flight of Passage getting a lot of hype when it opened! I think I am years behind most WDW enthusiasts on seeing all the newer lands and rides so it’s new and exciting to me! Now I’m a little worried I won’t like it as much next time.
I will check my 3D glasses for scratches next time…
@Jumping_Fountains we are aligned on many favorites! The jumping fountains at EPCOT were another favorite of mine as a kid. I forgot to mention it in my trip report that I was so happy to see that the jumping fountains are still there.
We would totally have the best day ever at the parks.
I’ve been to WDW twice since FOP opened and rode FOP 4-5 times each trip. I hated the movie Pandora, and love that ride, even when my glasses aren’t perfect or I’m on the edge of the screen. I love the scenery and the feeling of flight, it’s beautiful, and the ride doesn’t have the “something goes wrong” trope or the hard crashes that beat up my aging body. Hope you are able to enjoy it many, many more times!
Honestly, it is always worth riding, and maybe having it be extra special every now and then makes it more special.
My sister went to Disney 3 years ago. Her last time there was in 2014. She texted me as soon as she got off because it blew her away. That was the only ride she even thought to do that for.
Maybe because the reaction is so emotional, people don’t think to share as much. I think its average wait time is 20 more mins than Tron or ROTR, which definitely speaks to its popularity.
Gaurdians is my absolute favorite, it makes me so incredibly happy. Buy FOP is right behind.
Thanks to you I have my AH touring plan. It includes Tiana’s before closing and ending the night with HM.
